Would I be right in saying only one Celt in that picture, Munro?
Munro plus Bhoy front row 2nd from left is Jimmy Smith - Very good player and Jock wanted him - Newcastle got him - Jock finally got him (loan iirc ?) to Celtic but his knees were shot. :(

Opposite scenario to Joe McBride whom Jock sold to Hibs as he thought Joe's knee was gubbed and it wasn't - One of the few occasions Jock admitted a feck up.

Jock despised Richard Park - He used to call him "Ibrox Park" similar to how he called the Beebs once Scottish Head Honcho Peter Thompson as "Blue Peter"

Was there anybody back then that expressed sympathy to us in the media or even a reserved neutrality?

Crampsey was generally bang on and a good pal of Jock's - He was the most knowledgeable sports guy around and wrote an excellent book on Jock.

Jim Rodgers was Jock's mate and the guy Jock trusted and used to get to players and get at the huns - He also got him to lay many false rumours in amongst the Press to make them look ridiculous - The Press were in fear of Jock generally.

Ian Archer famously slaughtered the huns very existence in one article.

Cyril Horne was a respected journalist who was a good friend to Celtic during that period.

Also John Rafferty of the Scotsman.

Good shouts on both - John Rafferty and his brother Dick who was a well known Boxing referee were great Tims. I was mates with one of their sons who was a die hard also.

Cyril Horne was another great mate of Jock's especially in the early days.
