Burley is a pain in the ass but I am thankful for his many goals when we stopped the 10.
Aye- he did a good job for us.

A sending off? or the ref could be showing the lads the correct way to do the Saturday Night Fever. Three Celts in that picture, Fulton?
Not often Peter was outdone at the pointing!

Scrupulously fair baw high challenge

Shocking
Just watched that Easter Road footage - took me back

As if I wasn't depressed enough after last night :nono:

as we've said before on this thread, the 77-78 season was a nightmare and not the one to go to every game but you can't choose these things and it really did make the good times that came later, much sweeter.

Oh and two-goal Tony Higgins is a huge Celtic fan.
77-78 season I actually did go to every game

It felt like a duty, or a pennance to go and see us humped on a regular basis

We might have been piss poor but the team never stopped trying, couldnt fault them for that, we just didnt have it

Fans were fantastic all season and still travelled in huge numbers

yes, i was at most of them (apart from the Rangers games as I was still deemed too young!) The complaints of todays team pale into insignificance with this season! The footage shows just how poor the defence was that year. not many high points that season, apart from maybe the Hibs at home match!... 36 points from 36 games if I'm correct!

Two all that game. I think DiCanio scored two penalties iirc

edit - PVH scored two

Edit - there was a 2 all game a month later and DiCanio scored a pen. I give up. Crap memory. I prefer my recollections of games anyway.
That was Di Canio acting the tw@t and getting sent off after scoring a penalty.
At the time I thought he was at it, we were under pressure to win and there were only 10 minutes to go when we got the penalty, he scored, grabbed the ball and proceeded to aim for a group of Hearts players, pushing and shoving them out of the way, he didn't need to go through them, but that way he got a red card and could bleat to the press about how that was the reason we didn't win.
Complete divot.

Trainers aren't too shabby either. Bremner sporting a precursor to the adidas Tobacco - California or Camargue, maybe?

so... can we name them? must be around the 74 Home internationals/World Cup? That was a good side.
Tommy Hutchinson, ? David Harvey, Jim Stewart? , Gordon McQueen

Peter Lorrimer, Martin Buchan, Jim Holton?, John Blackley, Joe Jordan, Davie Hay, ?, Danny McGrain, ?, Willie Ormond

?, Jinky, Willie Morgan, Dennis Law, Billy Bremner, Kenny Dalglish :worthy: Donald Ford,

then again I've got it horribly wrong before
