1989 sc semi v Hibs....played the day after Hillsborough hence the black armbands.

In hindsight it should probably have been postponed.

Quite unusual for a semi to be played on a Sunday back then.
Was live on the telly, hence the move.

He's a great guy and a gent with Celtic running through his veins - Totally different away from the football environment.

1986 League Cup Final was that hun bastard Syme with one of the worst ever examples of hun bias refereeing ever seen and there have been plenty of them.

After it Davie said we should pack it in up here and head down South as we never get a fair crack at it with these hun feckers - Needless to say he got fined for speaking the truth.

Syme was the hun :carrot: Jock chased up the tunnel and shouted "Your Father would have been proud of you".

They had played Zurich on the Saturday, Joe Miller got sent off, played the next day and came out with that strip.
I don't think it was that pre-season, for Joe Miller to be there the earliest that could be is 1988, we had already retired that strip by then.
The Swiss pre-seaon of 1988 was the one where we ran out of keepers and flew Hamish McAlpine for a game.
I thought the only time we wore it was a pre-seaon game in Ireland, 86-87.
As someone once said- I was there.

Against South West Select and the strip appeared, did feature in a team group picture in 86 or 87 without ever being used in a competitive game.

I was at Pittodrie that night. After extra time and penalties we all refused to leave the beach end until the team came out. They came out in their towels !

Must have been after 11 before we left the stadium.

Brilliant night

Cool! Can't argue with that.
As I said I thought that strip had been retired, without being used in anger, a year or so prior.
