A wee reminder of how things have changed so fast over a couple of seasons, from being victors over Barca to struggling to brush aside the mighty Icelanders :ponder:
To be fair, I don't think things have changed all that much since then. When we played Barca at Parkhead last season, Mulgrew and Forrest both missed great chances to put us 1-0 up inside the last 15 minutes. With a little more luck, we could have been looking at another win against them. Fine margins and all that. Just a year before this picture we were being humped by Sion and two years before it we lost 4-0 to Utrecht so it's not like it was a golden era in Europe by any stretch of the imagination.
I hate ye positive feckers :comp:  All I can say is Stokes/Balde /Pukki/Griffiths :boxer:
I know what you mean, but our spearhead the night we beat Barca was the mighty Miku.
Can you honestly say that Griffiths or Pukki is a step down from that?

You have a valid point Volvic, relly only copped it when I read your post, it just seems that the present four attackers we have now give the impression that they are incapable of scoring. Young Watt looked ok today not that he looked like he was a goal machine but at least he gave the appearance of movement

Watched the second half today. Ouch. The squad beyond the first 16 or so needs an upgrade, although some, eg Henderson, simply had a bad day at the office I reckon.

Meanwhile back on topic; one of your old images was Dugald McCarrison, a mate of mine was with Celtic in the 80s and was in the same team as him, total goal machine at youth and reserve level, made his debut in October 1987, taking McAvennie's place after he had been sent off at Ibrox the previous weekend. Scored one goal for the first team, at Dens Park in early 89, the last in a 3-0 win.
Moved to Killie I think in the very early 90s, TB would have known him from Celtic, can't remember if it was before or after he left but during a close season he agreed to play in a local charity match and got his leg broken really badly (possibly in two places). Pretty much that was it for his career, I think he was in the junior leagues for a while at the end.

Sad, I'm sure back in those days the financial support wasn't there to help the lad out, that type of an injury can affect your prospects of future employment. I played junior football for thirty years and have the knees, hip and ankles to prove it  Waiting on a hip replacment (I'm 50yrs old) and my knee is locking so bad at the moment I'm struggling to get off the chair but I still manage to play indoor twice a week, doctor says the damage is already done so you may as well finish yourself off
