A wee reminder of how things have changed so fast over a couple of seasons, from being victors over Barca to struggling to brush aside the mighty Icelanders :ponder:
During the same season we beat Barca, we struggled to overcome HJK Helsinki.

One result doesnt make a season.
I respect what you say Glorious and this is not the thread to debate it but I see a genuine retreat from a club that could put up a decent fight in the CL as we did that season, your right it wasn't one match, it was all the matches in the CL that year. Now we have Stokes/Pukki/Balde/Griffiths

Top two are Dougie McGuire and Sandy Fraser. The bottom one is Dugald McCarrison.
Agree - Thought Dougie McGuire had chance but like so many wasn't to be with Celtic.
Also thought he had a chance of making it. Sure he ended up playing in the lower leagues for a good number of years.

To be fair, I don't think things have changed all that much since then. When we played Barca at Parkhead last season, Mulgrew and Forrest both missed great chances to put us 1-0 up inside the last 15 minutes. With a little more luck, we could have been looking at another win against them. Fine margins and all that. Just a year before this picture we were being humped by Sion and two years before it we lost 4-0 to Utrecht so it's not like it was a golden era in Europe by any stretch of the imagination.

Well the guy who scored the winning goal in that game still plays for us! And Stokes would probably have been playing in that game too if he wasn't injured. But generally I agree that our current strikers are hopeless!

I have to admit I'm not even a glass half empty person, to me the glass is empty & broken on the floor :lol: but things could be worse, from a recent Celtic facebook site;

Went to Coventry - Didn't work out then the spells at Q of S. Stranraer before various Ayrshire Junior clubs - Managed Ardeer for a while.

His Dad up until recently was still coming up for the home games but didn't see him last season - Nice guy I hope he is okay.

????? Timaloys wtf is that, never in my 50 years have I come across that phrase?
"Forever and ever,
We'll follow The Bhoys,
The Glasgow Celtic,The Timaloys,
For we will be mastered by no Orange Bastard,
We'll keep the Green Flag flying high,

So bring on the Hearts, the Hibs, the Deid Bastards,
Bring on the Spaniards by the score,
Barcelona,Real Madrid,
They will make a gallant bid.
Who the feck they trying to kid.
We are out to show the world what we can do."

Something like that ce - There are a few versions!!!! ;)
70s chant

"We're ra boys, the timaloys"

"We're ra Celtic bovver boys"
