I still shudder at some of the Darce's assaults tackles on some poor striker when he graced
MacKessack Park as a player and then manager.
He was best described as a tractor who had run out of diesel.

Alec Dowdells - The Trainer/Physio of the time.
My granda Paddy Slaven was Dowdells assistant at the time. My mum has some great memories of him bringing Celtic Players back to the house in Blantyre for dinner.
I once seen a team photo with my granda in it and he had the same style white coat as Dowdells but I can't find it anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated.

thought I was dying the next day my mate said I was like a rabid dog at the game ,
lesson learned.
