it was the 1985 scots cup final v dundee utd, was my banner no sheep at hampden THEY WERE THE DAYS
Whilst I remember the 80s, and the fact that Aberdeen were a menace to us, I would never have believed that our support would be so bothered by the fact that we made the final and they didn't to have a banner reflecting the fact. Aware they beat us the season before in the final which meant they won three in a row.

Not having a go, just genuinely amazed at how different things were and how things have changed since.

The thought of Aberdeen not making a final these days can't even be referred to as something that exercises even Dons fans. Its more of a given than anything worthy of remarking on.

A few well known faces in this 1973 reserve side.

I know some of you like to test the old memory so I'll post the team in a bit.

Most find the guy at front right a bit of a problem.

EDIT - bottom right - possibly Jimmy Griffin - my dad's cousin.

Front right is indeed my dad's cousin Jimmy Griffin. I am told the priest is Canon Duddy. Trying to identify some others through other members of the family.
Excellent, I only posted it hoping this would happen.
Thanks for posting. I am still in touch with Jimmy's wife's Brother's son. :ponder:
The"Brother" is still going well in his 80s (and still living in St Bernadette's parish), so hoping that the son can pass this on to him, and maybe he can identify some more of the gents.
