I would say it's 89-90.
In 1990-91 there was advertising attached to the barriers on the east terrace, they aren't there, but as has previously been mentioned the stantions are green (or certainly not white) which puts it beyond 1988.
I need to get out more, I mean, really; who has this kind of information in their brain :cuckoo:
 still it's incredibly impressive :worthy:
Thanks  I think :ffs:

They we're a horrible lot. Plenty of nazi salutes and huns tops among them. Everything about Mowbray was disastrous. Testimonial turned into a riot!

Even I would have scored that.
That can't be Naylor's last gasp miss in penultimate game of 08-09? If so, there's no need for that!

I know very little from that period Doc but you are quite right about the opening of the shipyard being a watershed. It was probably the influx of loyalists from Ulster to work in the yards that gave the OF rivalry the nasty edge.
Absolutely, although I did read, I believe in Graham McColl's book that the first anti-Celtic / Irish sectarian bile at a football match in Scotland was at Greenock Morton. This was just after the Great War, around 1921.
Yer about 30 years out with the anti Celtic/Irish stuff there sur.
Rangers' (Before Liquidation) sectarianism right from the very start is played down but there are a number of examples of it during the 1880s and 90s including it taking them 16 years to play a Catholic, (Neil McCallum in a friendly against Aston Villa), dropping a player in the early 1890s (Wylie i'm sure he was called). after he was accused of being a Catholic and had played poorly in a defeat to us. (Turns out he wasn't a Catholic). Also example of Rangers players sectarian abuse of Celtic players to their faces.

Back row, 2nd from Left is Barney Battles BUT not the Celtic player, it's his son. So I think that's the fifth Celtic connection but wasn't a Celtic player. The son played for Hearts.
