Thats some gap between the old Hayshed/Jungle and the pitch.

Take it the new Jungle was moved forward slightly in 66/67.
... or else the pitch was widened? :hmmm:

Note that the fees Celtic got for Bobby Collins and Willie Fernie paid for the floodlights at Celtic Park.

.....and started a 'glorious' tradition of selling their best players.

Crerand, Macari, Hay, Dalglish, Nicholas....and so it goes on till this day. :(

I'm certain that isn't Paul Wilson, but I don't know who it is.

About half a dozen pages back I was able to name all in this pic, except the two players at the back right. :ponder:
I have interviewed every player in this picture (and many more) for an upcoming book, due for release in September.

Paul Wilson himself confirmed to me that it is he who is standing next to Bobby's wee brother, Billy Murdoch, in the back row.

Many KDS posters have assisted me with research for my book (including Lubomirmoravcik and Caltonbhoy1967 :worthy: ) and it has been a truly phenomenal experience.

The Celtic team flew from Glasgow airport on Friday 31st May 1968 to compete in the under-21 tournament, 'Europeo Juniores Di Calcia Caligaris Torneo XII'. They returned undefeated.

The full line up from this photo in Casale Monferrato, Italy is as follows:

Back Row (Left to Right) - Jackie Clarke (trialist on this tour and signed for two seasons on the back of it), John Gorman, Bobby Wraith, Billy Murdoch and Paul Wilson.

Front Row (Left to Right) - Lou Macari, Danny McGrain, George Connelly (Captain), Davie Hay, John Murray (Vice Captain) and Hugh (Aidan) McKellar.

Squad players who made the trip but who are not in the photo are Tommy Livingstone, Fred Pethard, Kenny Dalglish, Tony McBride, Pat McMahon, Johnny Hemphill, Jim Clark and Victor Davidson.

Now almost certain that is Wisla Krakow. Photo from the away leg showing the same style of number and the lines down the side of the shorts. :cartuja:

I knew someone would find the official team photo for this one.

The shot of Neilly Mochan standing next to Charlie Gallagher is from Hugh Birt's archive. Is that the official club photographer standing next to John Hughes?

Talk to guys that knew & played with him. All of the opinion is that Tony was THE greatest player who "never" made it. I seen him doing things on a football pitch that were just unbelievable. Everybody has a fav Tony moment that they tell about him. Great shame for Celtic & not forgetting Tony himself for the way things turned out.
