That is in no way the most interesting photo on this thread... In fact by comparison, it is pretty dull, but it fascinates me.

I vaguely recall being inside the Celtic end before it was recovered. I started going with my mates in 1985, leaving behind the front stand and my uncle's chaperoning.

Those years are the ones where I really started enjoying my football going independence, and I have such slim recollections of the detail of the Celtic end in the year before it was renovated.

I always thought that it was completely resurfaced, the ironwork being brand new etc, but from that photo, the ironwork underneath the terracing looks suspiciously like what I recall from the subsequent post-renovation years of 1986-94.

Basically, and true to form for the old board, it looks like it was a bit of a skim job, with the exception of the new roof and barriers.

Do you have any similar from the same era? It must be about 1984-85 judging by the relatively new brick work.

I'd love to see them!

He also sent off Hurlock and Walters in that game; naturally the first player sent off was Peter Grant... admittedly for toolery.

Was that the game where Grant was booked for conceding a free kick, then booked again for charging the same free kick down? :ffs:
