Absolutely wonderful to see this. :) This was the only football game my mother ever went to in her life. :) My father took her when they were "courting" in a bright emerald green coat! It must have been lucky though! :thumbsup:

I'm thinking 1951/1952 as Gil Heron is featured in the team. :thumbsup:

Edit: Celtic played Forfar Athletic on 19th September 1951. I reckon it was taken that week given the reference in the first paragraph. :thumbsup:

Edit: Checking the CelticWiki. George Hunter (goalkeeper) contracted TB in 1951. There is mention in the text of him being in Switzerland at the time of this photograph and I found this, which definitely dates the picture in late 1951. :cartuja: :)

Without looking up the wiki i noticed a few players in this pic never got a game for the Celtic 1st team, the 2 i spotted right away are the Rankin Brothers.
