Is that for real ?

So the chant could be genuine ?
Definitely a popular chant back in the day. Neilly was famed for his hotshot. A bhoy in our CSC used to sing the song regularly in the black days of the early 90s - although that's the first time I've actually seen a vampire jet! Was adapted a few years later for Jorge Cadette etc.

Looks like more or less the team that beat Motherwell in the 1931 Scottish Cup Final

not sure about a few but heres my shout

?, McStay, J.Thomson, Geatons, McGonagle, Wilson
Maley, A.Thomson, Scarff, McGrory, Napier, ?, McMenemy

Edit] Would say player at the end front row Robert Thomson
I think you've got some right but also some wrong.

I agree with your back row, but I also don't know the player on the left.

Front - Paddy Connolly, Peter Scarff, Jimmy McGrory, Charlie Napier, Peter Kavanagh
Love this thread, and this photo in particular. Peter Scarff, I'm sure I read he died very young from TB or some such?

Ma first thought actually was Paul Wilson believe it or not :o
But somehow ah convinced masel that if ye look at the bhoy's arms
they don't look dark enough tae be Paul :ph43r:
Then the date of 1967 put me off him as well - because ahm sure ah read
once that Big Jock signed him in '67 and farmed him straight out tae Maryhill
or somebody like that, so that mebbe he never turned out for us at that time :ponder:
It might well be him, but a wee naggin doubt still remains :brickwall:
I'm certain that isn't Paul Wilson, but I don't know who it is.

About half a dozen pages back I was able to name all in this pic, except the two players at the back right. :ponder:
I have interviewed every player in this picture (and many more) for an upcoming book, due for release in September.

Paul Wilson himself confirmed to me that it is he who is standing next to Bobby's wee brother, Billy Murdoch, in the back row.

Many KDS posters have assisted me with research for my book (including Lubomirmoravcik and Caltonbhoy1967 :worthy: ) and it has been a truly phenomenal experience.

The Celtic team flew from Glasgow airport on Friday 31st May 1968 to compete in the under-21 tournament, 'Europeo Juniores Di Calcia Caligaris Torneo XII'. They returned undefeated.

The full line up from this photo in Casale Monferrato, Italy is as follows:

Back Row (Left to Right) - Jackie Clarke (trialist on this tour and signed for two seasons on the back of it), John Gorman, Bobby Wraith, Billy Murdoch and Paul Wilson.

Front Row (Left to Right) - Lou Macari, Danny McGrain, George Connelly (Captain), Davie Hay, John Murray (Vice Captain) and Hugh (Aidan) McKellar.

Squad players who made the trip but who are not in the photo are Tommy Livingstone, Fred Pethard, Kenny Dalglish, Tony McBride, Pat McMahon, Johnny Hemphill, Jim Clark and Victor Davidson.

I will do JB, two of Castlemilk's huge array of talents from that period. There's a brilliant story about wee Tony from John Gorman on that trip but I won'y spoil it
