Joe McBride scoring against Falkirk? or could be Scotland
12/11/66 Falkirk 0 Celtic 3 McBride (2), Auld att12000
I'm sure the Falkirk defender in the middle of the pic is big ex-hun Doug Baillie, father of Lex Baillie.
Baillie played,looks like him.

Jimmy McGrory :worthy: ,John Thomson :worthy: ,Brother Dunstan. Willie Maley :worthy:

Brother Dunstan was Headmaster of St.Joseph's College Dumfries at the time.

Think flc had this down as 1930 at St.Joe's front entrance.

The only time Paul McStay was ever sent off in his career  due to a diving B****** called Vrto.

Always remember singing all the way back to Govan after the news came through that the deid huns had lost 2-1 to Falkirk at Ibrox :rocker:
I remember being at this game- didn't Vrto (who might have been one of Deidco's unpaid creditors as a European scout :ponder: ) go in late and/or high which resulted in McStay grabbing him by the throat?

Never got round to finding the exact date CB or the reason for the visit.

We read that Maley did take the team to visit Wafrids resting place when we played QOS but i can find no details of JT playing down there.

Although i say c1930, the most likely time for the visit was before or after the 1931 US tour.

Certainly is St Josephs front door.

Nov 76.. 1-0 Celtic, Joe Craig you are correct ...match report here! CelticWiki
Wow! This takes me back.

My first time up the Celtic end at Ibrox (had been in the enclosure once with my dad) for Deidco game. The atmosphere was amazing and I can still picture Joe's goal. My dad wouldn't let me go to OF game on my own till I was 16. Scary coming down those steep stairway at vack of Celtic end but what a sing-song on supporters bus home
My first visit to Ipox too for Celtic Rangers (deceased) game. Was in the enclosure. Hard to believe it was 37 years ago.
