Prague or Budapest, wartime tournament?
'In May 1921 Sparta defeated Scottish Champions Celtic twice (2-1, 2-0) in the space of a week.
A further challenge came from Barcelona, but Sparta beat the Catalans 2-3 on their own ground on Christmas Day.'

Found this on the gottfriedfuchs.blogspot
That Gottfried tells lies :arrr:

May 1922, Celtic were in Paris in May 1921.

I had suggested Sandy McMahon (above), but I've been informed now it's serial pipe smoker Johnny Madden

My (possibly flawed) recollection is that the Buzz's leg break was at the Celtic end and in an evening game - possibly the night Joe Craig scored?
thats my thoughts too
It was.
ive still got the newspaper headline for that game , JACKPOT JOE

McStay and Houghton come together, Scotland V Ireland 1987, Ray was another one that should have been in the hoops.
Eddie Gray,Arthur Graham and Houghton - Alll diehard Castlemilk Tims and we missed them all.
Heard Ray talk about his love for Celtic on RTE some time back but never mentioned anything about trials or any interest from us, a real pity.
he moved to london when he was only 10 years old, so i don,t think he was too handy for a wee trial at barrowfield
