Can any of the old timers help, is it Third Rangers, I know they died, but, can't recall who they are.

Have you ran out of Bernie's, Elvis?

Came across some fabulous images on the Sean Fallon facebook page recently, well worth having a look, although I will post them on here as they deserve to be seen by as many Bhoys as possible.

I find that still fascinating, two lads far from home at a time when it was very difficult to stay in contact with family or return at short notice. There would be obvious language difficulties not to mind the Scottish climate but they did have Sean Fallon to look after them

I love that pic :worthy: :worthy:
I used to like that pic

Think i have already mentioned in this thread re that image ... that as a school kid he was my favourite non Celtic player, late 60s as a classroom project we all wrote to our fav players/club asking for autos/pics/etc, Only 2 of us got a reply, one from Stoke because he liked Gordon Banks and i got a fair bit from Man City including signed pics of him. Years later i even backed his horses when he became a trainer and done my money, more recently he came up on my twitter TL and i sent him that photo asking who he preferred between us and the huns, thought with me sending him the photo of him and Jinky together he would give me the answer i was looking for but the bassa replied ... it depends in which pub he's drinking in :arrr:

I absolutely loved Starky. Could never quite fathom why a midfielder who seemed to score goals almost every other week throughout his career never got as many Scotland caps as he should have.
I'll always remember one night towards the end of what must have been the 92/93 season, when Billy was TB's no.2 at Killie and they had a reserve match one Friday night against the Shire. My mate and I had just erm, conducted some business at one of the flats in Firs Street, and on the way out of the close, who should breeze by on his way into Firs Park but the great man himself.
I'd love to say that we chatted briefly, got his autograph, etc, but in reality 2 stoned teenagers were left literally struck dumb for 5 minutes having witnessed the Legend of Starky.

Mate of mine used to claim that if big Whyte had drank a bottle of Eldorado before every game he'd have been a world beater
I heard a story during that era from a kind-of reliable source (a lesser spotted 'decent Rangers supporter', buta genuine good guy) involving Derek Whyte, Derek Whyte's girlfriend, an assistant in a chemist shop and a spool of 'artistic' photographs; apparently submitted for developing by Derek Whyte's girlfriend in error... :naught:

edit: there's a touch of the Peaky Blinders about his bonce in that pic!

He never got ANY Scotland caps as far as I'm aware mate, which is just mind-boggling!

As I recall he was quite often the whipping boy for sheep fans, but I can't recall him putting a foot wrong for us. Nor can my St. Mirren supporting mate say anything bad about his time for them.

He was composure personified. Really every midfield would benefit from his type of player.

Maybe he was just that little bit too cool, calm and collected for Scotland and Scottish football...
