Mate of mine used to claim that if big Whyte had drank a bottle of Eldorado before every game he'd have been a world beater

"Shortly after the interval"

Right enough.

I was convinced it was earlier than that.

I do think I might recall it being very early on in the second half now I've seen the report, but I was convinced it was around the 25 minute mark.
He probably should have been!!

The funny thing was I didn't think he had been booked in the first half, I thought it was Roberts, so I was astounded when the red was waved under his soon to be rebuilt nose.

A happy day.
We were late getting up the ground so had to go into the Celtic End instead of taking our usual berth Jungle, still jockeying for a decent vantage point and not really looking at the game when Stark scored, my specs were knocked off my head and lost in the bedlam. Later in town a hun tried to slash me as we sat on the West George Street side steps of Pizza Crolla: because I'd lost my specs I couldn't see the sneaky bassa making the backhanded motion across his body, but in his sneaky haste he misjudged and his knuckles hit my temple while the blade hit the wall. Last time I looked the mark was still there!

Pretty sure this was from a game at Pittodrie with frozen pitch, must have been 86/87.
Never seen so many players wearing trainers before or since.

Cracking pic.

I reckon this is from the Scottish Cup tie at Pittodrie in 1987, the pitch was frozen that day hence no studs on the shoes, and the Tango ball wasn't used for league games.

2-2 after we'd been 2-0 up at halftime, the usual defensive disasters from the sieve.

And with the noise from my anorak now drowning out everything else I'll go.

I was getting crushed to bits in the Celtic end just before the goal, was doubly happy when the goal went in because there a huge surge in front of me and I could get a breath.
After the game I had to get home via London Rd with scarf well hidden, not a pleasant experience at the time, especially trying to keep the smile off my face as they wailed about the ref (Syme!) being a Tim.

Walker got a goal wrongly chalked off in that game, Burns was tearing through them, Derek Ferguson challenged him but managed only to knock the ball to Walker who stuck it in the top corner, linesman and ref both thought TB had made the pass. One thing that stands out for me in that game was that Grant was excellent that day. Honest.
