If anyone can help, can't place guy in middle of back row.

(l-r) keeper David Harvey, Jim Holton (RIP), ?, Danny McGrain, John Blackley.
(front): Kenny Dalglish, Sandy Jardine, Peter Lorimer, Billy Bremner, Davie Hay and Denis Law
Don't think that's the Zaire game; no Tommy Hutchinson in the pic.
It's definitely Zaire - because other two games were played in Frankfurt, big stadium with a running track.

This is the Scotland line up before the opening World Cup group game in 1974 against Zaire.

It's in Dortmund - the ground Deidco modelled Ibrox rebuild on - and then Borussia filled in corners and added upper tier later.

Team shamefully contains no Jimmy Johnstone, who'd torn England apart few weeks earlier - Scotland went out on goal difference, because they only beat Zaire 2-0 and Brazil beat them 3-0 in last game while we were drawing with Yugoslavia.

Talk about negative :nono: that's what happens when you leave out one of the best players of his generation - 3rd in Euro footballer of year in 67 - and Scotland even had a 2-0 early on and sat back :ffs:

You're right it is a very young Joe Jordan - who scored in this and against Yugoslavia.

I've just checked SFA website - I need to get a life and get to bed

My wish for the new year is for Celtic to sign someone with a tenth of his ability. He (the new guy) would be ten times better then what we have at the moment.
Great picture Elvis

what a great day that was; what a way to end his Celtic career, what a great strip, loved that one!

Coming up for 10 years since Henrik left, can't believe that. Think that Ghod's wee bhoy Jordan is about 17 now, get him signed!

As GR knows the Scandinavians replicated the whole front façade of Celtic Park for the occasion and then just for added realism flew over Purcell (pre Cayman Islands bolt) ,Mosson, Len Murray, and a Cop Car from Strathclyde's Finest.

Most of the over 40s in the picture would have remember the visit of the German national team in 1936.

Along with a certain flag that was flown that day.

Whats written on the 1960 flag?

was it known to the fans before this match that Big Billy was going to retire? I can't remember any mention at the game... I remember him being carried by the players after it but that's all.
