Just beat you to it TTL  Ex hun Davie Wilson the manager.
I think Colin McAdam RIP may be behind Murdo.
Good shout. Think you're right with Colin McAdam. Big Tom had probably left them by then. Some decent players. Graeme Sharp (of Everton fame) would have broken through soon afterwards. I recall a story when Sean Fallon RIP was manager. He tried to sign Johan Cruyff for Dumbarton!!! :worthy: Wish we were as ambitious...

Two cracking team selections there, I'm assuming John Charles & Stanley Matthews in PD's selection, throw in Blanchflower, Carey & Gregg and you have a stellar selection. Then you have Tully, Collins, Peacock, Fallon & Stein, for us that must have been some match.
Can anybody tell the more afflicted of us (namely myself) about this match, seems like two strong selections that would have attracted a decent attendance?

Doherty's X1 beat us 4-1

35000 crowd at Celtic Park ,Belfast (now a shopping mall  ) for De La Salle Charity.

John Charles (2) Peter Doherty and Danny Blanchflower scored for them and Bobby Collins scored for Celtic.

I think Ian Wallace is beside murdo and I'm sure became a £1m pound player. If Scottish clubs produced the same quality of player then we wouldn't need to go abroad to find talent.

Wee Murdo at the front. Alongside Ian Wallace. Sir Walter of Cardigan lurking at the back (in a dignified way of course)

Nov '79 V Kilmarnock, one of those place the ball type images, although no prize on offer here.
Derek McDicken at the top. He was a local legend. Not because he played for Killie but because he delivered Alpine Lemonade on a Friday afternoon. It was effin rank but twice the size of Curries bottles. Last time I saw him he was running the social club at Auchinleck.
