Mods- apologies for starting a new thread , but this is one of those belting rumours that has that air of authenticity that you makes you think it just might be true.................

Celtic have approached Gordon Strachan with a view to him being involved in the recommendation of Mowbray's successor when the inevitable parting of the ways in the summer happens.

Now when you know the original source on this (and I didn't hear this from him directly but via a friend of a friend and I ain't naming him), it's one of those things that make you go :hmmm:

Aye and no need for compensation as he'll be out of a job soon.

Fits the bill in every way.

Not doubting the source but would question the rationale behind any such move. Is this a sign of the board not having a scooby about how to choose a new manager?

He'd probably recommend someone appropriate and, therefore, expensive.

Could be they're asking if he thinks Lennon or Willie McStay are up to the job. :ponder:

He totally blew it with his comments aimed at Lawwell - had he had Aberdeen top of the league he still wouldnt be getting it.
