:worthy: :worthy: as a previous helper in the charity raising on KDS I appreciate all the time and effort that people put into this. It can be incredibly time consuming but the end result does make it worthwhile.

Well done to everyone :rocker: :rocker:

Great work in the Celtic tradition.

I'm kinda new on KDS so can someone explain the KDS Charity Fund to me?

Is there a charity fund that we can donate to all year round, such as when we've been lucky at the bookies? Or is it a nominated charity that can accept the proceeds of sponsored events, such as the absail?

There's been talk of setting up a proper KDS Charity Fund website for over 2 years now. There is a hosted domain which is where the PayPal links tend to be located. Time and skills restrictions have meant that it is still a work in progress. I'll try and get a permanent link for donations sorted at some point.

Regarding how the fundraising works. In most instances the fundraising is put into a big pot and the good people of KDS nominate and vote on their favoured recipients. Occasionally, fundraisers are for specific charities and these are put forward after requests to the Admin to promote them through the forum e.g Martin (Kano) Fund, Kilbryde Hospice, etc.

On other occasions, like the current Abseil at Celtic Park, KDS may help to promote the activities (this time, creating a sponsorship form) but the actual funds are not process through the Charity Fund bank account. Another case in point was huddler's charity run in Aukland a couple of years ago. From memory, he had his own 'JustGiving' page and KDS Charity Fund promoted this and directed people to his 'donations link'.

:thumbsup:

:lol;

I know, the thing is it was on a jacket which i left in a cloakroom. I lost the ticket so i had to come back in during the week. Now they don't have the jacket :cry:

It's good to see the ongoing work and the commitment applied on here with regards to fund raising, my personal favourites being the GIRUY t-shirts and the Chilli Sauce Raffle, well done everyone who mucks in.
