Far too many English games in there; and the 1970 WC is vastly under-represented. |

1960 European Cup Final then 1970 World Cup Final for me. Edit - 1979 "Ten Men Won The League" game should be there - not that I am biased or anything. Edited by CaltonBhoy1967, 27 Nov 2009, 09:32 PM.

Like how they listed that World Cup semifinal in 1990 as 1-1 with no mention of the eventual winner unlike every other result on PK's in there. Spoiler alert, England lost

Ah Puskas, Di Stefano and Gento. Football taken to its highest and most sublime form. Eintracht were no mugs too, but they were demolished that night by one of the greatest assembly of club players ever. |

Stopped reading after no. 54 - the 1979 FA Cup Final, Arsenal 3 Man Utd 2. I was at that game, and it was utter, utter pants. Humdrum for 85 mins, with Arsenal strolling at 2-0, then a brief flurry with Man U scoring 2 scrappy goals to draw level, and Arsenal catching them with a last kick sucker punch when they thought they had secured extra time. The only amusement I got was watching my Arsenal-supporting pal going from utter despair to ecstasy in the last minute. This game wouldn't make my top 1,000. |

Peeesh, but then such lists always are. The Spain-Yugoslavia tie at Euro 2000 was the first that sprung to my mind, absolutely unbelievable game. EDIT cos I used the word 'game' about seventeen times in the one sentence. Edited by goatbhoy, 27 Nov 2009, 09:43 PM.

It's the other way around for me - but only just. After them it's the 1970 WC semi-final between Italy & West Germany. All 3 matches were football at its very best. There was also the 1966 World Cup match between Portugal (Eusebio etc) and North Korea which the Portuguese won 5-3 after being 3-0 down. Football just isn't the same these days. OldGit CSC |
