Its quite feasible he's played carrying an injury, and its also feasible that he's just unlucky. Or maybe he's just staying out the way so he's blameless for the dross. Whatever it is,I don't care. He's being played as a winger when it simply isn't his most effective role.
agree with you, far better player when in the middle. but then again so is mcgeady.

The thread may be negative but if it's about Maloney it kinda has to be. Through no fault of his own this guy has spent months and months of his Celtic career on the treatment table. This is absolutely no use to us. A fit Maloney could certainly play a part in our team but it looks like injuries are going to ruin his career.
That is exactly the point I was making in the OP. It can't be negative if it is factual, and the fact of the matter is Maloney's second reincarnation is turning out to be just as ineffective as his first.

 His first, in which he was an able deputy for Larsson, Sutton and Hartson, and was then POTY and YPOTY in the one season. That's effing ineffective for you, aye.

Then already this season, he's our 2nd top scorer and has the 2nd most assists. Even when he's playing badly he will create something or score a goal that can win a game.

Somebody said that if McGeady had Maloney brains and delivery he'd be a world beater, whereas if Maloney had McGeady's skills then he'd be a world beater. That sums it up for me.

It can hardly be Maloney's own fault that he has had a lot of injuries.

It happens. Give the guy a break.

I'm reeling here at that piece of news, I can't believe it. There goes my plan to sleep at some point this weekend. I'll be tossing and turning all night now thinking "How in the name of all that is good and holy can a super fit guy like Shaun Maloney get injured?"

If it can happen him it can happen any of us. Be double wide lads.

Impromptu street parties have sprung up in Tel Aviv, Vienna and Larkhall over this news.

I haven't felt this bad since Henrik broke his leg in Lyon.

he has tendonitis in his achilles, which i can tell you is very painful. you can play through this (as he has) but eventually you have to rest the injury
it is not something that he can do anything about tho, so it's not really his fault....i am a huge fan of Shaun & when he is fit his is a major asset to the the team...but, if he continues to keep spending most of his time on the injury table he becomes a hinderance instead & being on a fairly hefty wage (which he is)

Should have left him down in Brum in my humble opinion...very few come back and do as well as they done before (which wasn't much to write home about as far as I'm concerned).

If anyone actually has a good news story about the team could they keep it quiet as I'm into this groove of total negativity now and don't want it disrupted
