What were the alleged comments of Wilson?
Nothing alleged about it.
Wilson was talking about how a few years ago Celtic had the quality of guys like Sutton and Larsson playing for them, nowadays they have to make do with guys like him.
Not really the sort of attitude expected from a guy pushing for a first team place at Celtic to more or less admit he isn`t good enough.

In my opinion.
wasn't he just telling it like it is?

Not fussed either way. Both are decent players who provide good cover. They won't be on big wages and we wouldn't recieve big fees for them. I would rather he came in for some of the more valuable underachievers.

Strachan wont take them up. They'll struggle early next season, then sacked by Christmas 2010. Then perhaps, they'll want Mowbray. Massive Boro man..... fans will adore him. Its his natural home in a sense. Enter Paul Lambert.

I'm a fan of Robson, but he's getting on a bit, although he deserves a stab at another club.

Cracking player, if he goes, I hope he's better appreciated than he has been here.

Would be delighted if he took Robson off our hands.

Wilson is too injury prone and wouldn't be overly missed either.

Love him or hate him, but his greatest legacy may be that he's left us with the best 2 keepers we've ever had.
Go check & you'll see Polish news stories regarding us & Boruc while MON was still manager!
So Mo Camara was a MON signing as well then?? :naught:

Indeed but I'd expect 2m for both of them. Like you said though, I'd prefer if he came in for the likes of McDonald, Caldwell, Brown who would free up money which would let TM get in his own players.

Robson is out of contract in 6 months is he not? Wilson is constantly injured. Getting them off the wage bill and £250k will be enough.

So he apparently expects to get them for the same money as he paid for them. Isn't that some sort of admission of failure?
I think he would putting those bids in on the basis that neither is a first-choice player, and he might suspect that TM is thinking of offloading them in January.

Something must have been wrong for Southgate to be sacked then as Gibson is one of the most supportive and fair chairmen around.

Anyway I think what holds good for Tony holds good for Strachan.
It wasn't results for Southgate, it was attendances. If Gibson was a bit less patient they'd still be in the Premier League. His patience may well be honourable, but they're in the Championship now and he's never had a decent manager there, and his current appointment does nothing to buck the trend. If they think the football was bad under Southgate they don't know what's coming.
Funnily enough, I've been thinking something much the same this afternoon.

In todays paper, it said that Strachan is going to put in a bid of 1.5m to try and secure the services of both of them.
