Of course he has a right of protest, but if he choses to make it by interrupting a minutes silence it just gives the completely wrong impression, no matter how legitimate his protest. I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but that's the way it is.

I did 23 years in the services and the poppy shampoo makes my toes curl.

I volunteered, took the money, got a life that I could never have attained in Lanarkshire and if a journey home in a box was the penalty the tough shampoo on me and mine, life is about choices.

The huns attempting to gain the moral high ground gets on ma thrupnies when the nearest the majoriy of them get to bother is copping a gobfull of CS when pissed.......same goes for our keyboard Provies BTW

I will keep the silence tomorrow for all the innocents killed in the name of 'causes'

Ach , dry yer eyes.

Most of the people who have issues with this political stunt will stand outside or turn the TV over. The rest will stand and be silent sticking their chests out for SKY TV showing off their poppy on the Hoops , looking daft as if they've won the high ground or something.

End of the day , who cares.

Skint Huns :ponder:

eff them
Why will anyone that does decide to wear a poppy look daft???

If you don't care don't post.

Allegedly these wars you go on about won your freedom. Freedom of speech. Whether you like it or not I have a right to have my say on it , protest or otherwise. This is what comes with democracy.

Can't have it both ways.

Did I go on about wars?? Did i feck, didn't say anything about freedom of speech either.

All I asked was why any celtic supporter that wore a poppy at the game would be classed as a bunch of dafty's by you??

Hopefully you'll be outside protesting or in the house.

I just hope that no-one is stupid enough to make Celtic look like the Scum. The perfect opportunity to demonstrate the difference between ourselves and those fandans is tomorrow. Regardless of opinion, if you are at the game tomorrow, keep yer gob shut for just a minute. Please.

Have no worries at all.

If someone breathes loudly then quite rightly the entire Celtic support will be taken to task with the castigation led by the chicken hawks over the other side of the city and their fellow travelers.

If everyone turns up wearing a poppy, in their old military uniforms, carrying the ashes of their relatives who have died in various British campaigns, observes the minutes silence perfectly such that the death throws of a fly near the centre circle are picked up by the TV microphones is heard then....

What people do as ever is up to them as it should be; the result is in no doubt and will be as it will be.

one shout will see the entire support taken to task by the media, who are positively salivating at the very thought

so be it

i'd rather it didn't happen but if it's going to i'd much rather it was a genuine protest rather than some daft ill-informed green brigade arsehole who thinks it's the right thing to do

I respect your point CDB but rememberance day is to remember all services dead regardless of conflict, it is possible to be humbled and disgraced by people at the same time.

Absolutely nothing wrong with remembering the War Dead, and they should be remembered. The Huns hijacked the Poppy and most Celtic fans realise this, so any Neds that step out of line will be set right with a good smack around the head. No worries!

It's part of the DailyMailification of the UK:

linky

Being a Celtic Club, it should be no surprise that some of our supporters have a problem with the distribution of the Poppy Fund money; whether they need to make that problem clear during a tomorrow's minutes silence is a different question. Whether there is a need for the silence at any football match is another question again.

Well said Gerry. I personally dont wear the red poppy but if any arseholes give it laldy tomorrow I hope they get huckled one way or another. Dont give the club a bad name. Remember we are an inclusive club not like those bastards in the South Side.
