Apoligies for posting when I'm a bit drunk, but tomorrow is worrying me. I pride myself by being a Celtic supporter and have my own personal opinioin/feelings about 11/11, but after watching a few English games today, and minutes silences I'm really worried that we might give ourselves a lot of bad pr tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, I don't understand why all this has crept into football games but in a week where we have shown ourselves to be a cosmos apart from the orcs, we might get a bit of bad pr. But then again, wgaf what the scottish media thing about us ... my opinion is that they hate us anyway

What's worse? Trashing Manchester in an evening of neanderthalism, or two neds booing a minutes silence and the resulting sound of everyone else telling them to shut up?

Find out in Monday's Daily Record.

Hopefully, Falkirk will fail to open a couple of turnstyles and it won't matter

Absolutely nothing wrong with remembering the War Dead, and they should be remembered. The Huns hijacked the Poppy and most Celtic fans realise this, so any Neds that step out of line will be set right with a good smack around the head. No worries!

Not worried at all, everyone is entitled to their opinion on a silence and whether or not to break it.
Is it wrong that i look forward to the mock outrage of the next week and the undeniable chance to stick it to the not so educated Huns at my work?

I'm pretty certain that there will be some kind of incident. I'm also pretty certain the rags will be apoplectic about it.

So be it.

And on that note, the turnstile arrangement for the stand behind the goal is a farce.

The League Cup game this season saw loads of people miss the kick-off with only two turnstiles open at each side, the stewards were clueless, polis smug. As usually happens, punters werent happy and everyone started to shove and edge forward as much as they could. Not a nice situation.

A) If it happens again tomorrow and people are held up outside, whilst the inside is hushed, there will be external noise being picked up.

B) I dont recall any fighting at half-time that night caused by poor turnstile facilities...although Juneau was giving it some usual secterian pish :suspect:

Ach , dry yer eyes.

Most of the people who have issues with this political stunt will stand outside or turn the TV over. The rest will stand and be silent sticking their chests out for SKY TV showing off their poppy on the Hoops , looking daft as if they've won the high ground or something.

End of the day , who cares.

a good smack round the head... are you joking? anyone that does step out of your line..so to speak..
deserves his right of freedom of speech..after all, thats what the war to end all wars was about.. would you prefer if he picks up a gun.
I have great sympathy with the hecklers..I respect them more for standing up to the powers at be.. at politicising sporting,
so. knock yourself out there buddy

Not quite what I meant. But if someone feels the need to shout an audible IRA slogan or the likes during a minutes silence/applause, it's just playing into the hands of the press/huns/etc. Surely they can bite their tongues ffs.

I think I agree with with you. Respect to opinion anti war, but what worries me is that the hypocrits in the scottish press will use this as a 'look at them' attitude. If I was at the game tomorrow, I would stand at the pie stall till the huddle. As I said, I don't know why it has crept into football.

I would respect them if they consistently stood up to these 'powers'. Not once a year during the Celtic family's tribute. Protesting at the silence is counter productive because the nation associates it with respect for the war dead - not with the authorities.
