As for being a privilege playing for Scotland, I gave up supporting them live after hearing "fenian b.....d" from the tartan army for the hundredth time whenever a Celtic player was on the park.
What has that got to do with anything? Your opinion on whether you like Scotland or respect them atall is irrelevant to this topic. John Kennedy wanted to play for Scotland, nobody forced him, unfortunately he got injured.
That part of my post you quote is merely my add on. But you did claim that playing for Scotland is a privilege, for many Celtic players. Johnstone, Hay, Aitken etc it couldhardly have seemed such given the abuse they recieved. However the real point of my post was your patently absurd claim that the SFA have no responsibility towards a player whose career has been effectively destroyed while playing for Scotland. Self evident pish.

after watching that today from mcmanus, whos only in the celtic team because of kennedys injury, and caldwell, its come to my attention that we should just play kennedy anyway, a guy who has 1 good leg is infact better than hoof and heid

. But the main villian of this piece is the thug who injured him.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the most recent operation wasn't as serious as was first made out. The papers had it down as some sort of major reconstruction when in reality it was a routine tidy up thats required a few months after major knee surgery. I still hope the big man will make a return. If not for Celtic then for a smaller SPL or Championship team.

Has seemed to disappear off the radar. Don't hear from him in media or that. What a prospect he was. Barca away being the highlight of his playing days probably.

Hopefully Celtic find some sort of role for him

Don't want to seem like making light of bad situation but wonder if McManus would have made it had Kennedy not got injured. :ponder:

He was in good shape at Norwich and getting rave reviews there, that was only a year ago.
I think to say he's finished is surely premature?

Spoke to JFK briefly on Sat night in the Grill on the Corner in Glasgow and asked how close he was to a return.

He said "hopefully soon".

I hope so too but with the nature of his injury i fear the worst.

Good luck to the big man, a proper nice guy and gentleman into the bargain.

In his injured state, even now, he could still hobble into our central defence and perform better than the current incumbents. :ph43r:

Yeah, it wasn't a serious operation like an emergency one. It was a routine one that was planned.

I've heard that Steadman has told him his career is over and that it should be announced within the next few weeks :(
Totally gutting, was at Rugby Park the day Naka clinched the title, met him out celebrating that night and kept on telling him how incredible he was that day and that he was the MOTM. Being the modest guy he is he just kept saying cheers. Hopefully has a successful future ahead of him whatever he does.

Would have been captain of Celtic and scotland if it wasn't for his injury.Even if he ever did come back he wouldn't be the same player having been out for so long.Danny McGrain was never quite as good after being out for 18 months. It wasn't Scotland's fault John got injured but the thug who deliberately went out to cripple him.
