Delighted it looks like he's staying at the club. As I said earlier on, I think he's got some remarkable qualities as a human being that we'll do well to maximise.

Good luck big man :worthy:
Seconded.

I don't know about compared to other players, but going by his cars I'd like to be as poor as him. ;)
Don't ever judge anyone by their cars or home. You can get all that stuff on tick and it means nicht other than some mug is willing to lend them money and their stupid enough to take it.
Bottom line, what's in the bank or can be converted swiftly to cash. The rest is just tinsel.
Wouldn't mind having 40k worth of tinsel in my driveway at his age.

Wouldn't fancy a health threatening injury at his age though...

I had to jack in fitba at 21, no fecker offered me a testimonial, and I didn't have 40k brief.
The guy has been unlucky but he will have made a decent enough wedge and I would imagine a claim against SFA for lost easrnings.

You didn't play football as your profession (i'm guessing?).

End of the day, relatively speaking, it's the equivalent of having a job you've trained for and dedicated all your life to, and having to give up through ill health.

Sure, be bitter about the fact you can't buy a £40k car, but the whole point here is that he could have made far more money in his career had he not been cruelly injured. A claim against the SFA won't really get him all that much.

Don't bother going to any sort of testimonial if you feel like that. I'm sure the majority of decent minded Celtic fans will be desperate to support John.

i really wish him all the best in his future. i am sure he was a captain in the making at celtic before the injury.

so whats next for John. does anybody know if he will stay at celtic in some capacity.
if i was him i would do my coaching badges and work my way up . i believe he is good friends with willie mcstay.
so maybe he could take him under his wing and work with him through his coaching apprenticeship.

anyway best wishes to him.

Heard today that both Celtic and Scotland are helping him through his coaching badges, Celtic are going to offer him a chance to coach the youngsters, and that Peter Lawwell has offered him a testimonial.

good

all we and he are left with now is what could have been, however all the signs were that he was going to make it.

in the AV they suggest a testimonial against Aston Villa. I wonder if Barca might be up for it. that was his best game for us and that tacle against ronaldhino was class.
