Europa League? No yet..

They have played 13 games this season, won 6 drew 2 lost 5.

From the start of the season.

Dinamo Moskva 3 - 2 eff Khimki
Terek Groznyi 1 - 0 Dinamo Moskva
Dinamo Moskva 1 - 0 eff Rostov na Donu
Spartak Moskva 0 - 3 Dinamo Moskva
Rubin Kazan 3 - 0 Dinamo Moskva
Dinamo Moskva 0 - 1 Krylya Sovetov Spartak Moskva 0 - 2 Dinamo Moskva Dinamo Moskva 1 - 2 CSKA Moskva
Dinamo Moskva P 2 - 2 P CSKA Moskva
Saturn Mosk Oblast 0 - 0 Dinamo Moskva
Dinamo Moskva 1 - 0 Zenit St Petersburg
Tom Tomsk 2 - 3 Dinamo Moskva
Dinamo Moskva 1 - 1 Kuban Krasnodar
Amkar Perm 3 - 1 Dinamo Moskva
Volgar Gazprom Astrakhan 2 - 0 Dinamo Moskva

Not won in their last three games, they have a home league game on Saturday.
The worrying thing looking at that is that they seem to have beaten Zenit and Spartak so they obviously play well against better teams and can raise their game.

Let's hope we're shampooe enough to beat them :ph43r:

i am sitting here feckin fuming that we are even in this part of the draw and not the huns instead.

the suits in charge who didnt strengthen last year
strachan
the spinless underperformers the last couple of months of the season.

all needs a good slap today
Hear hear.

This is where underinvestment in the team and persevering with a dickhead of a manager gets you.
Absolutely what I was thinking. I'm sure the usual apologists will moan that we are beating a dead horse now that Strachan is gone, but the man left out club with this mess. Too bad Strachan doesn't manage the hun.

The draw could have been kinder, but it's not the end of the world. Dinamo Moscow shouldn't be compared with some of the more illustrious teams of Russia/Ukraine we've come up against in the past. There are no South American superstars in their side. They play very defensive 4-5-1 (Walter-esque) football and any foreigners they do have are strictly in the mediocre category. They are a decent team, but certainly by no means unbeatable and nowhere near the same standard of their much wealthier counterparts Zenit and CSKA in the RPL. Their best player though is Alexander Kerzhakov, who is a class-act, and someone i said Celtic should be looking at recently.

Overall i think we can expect two very tight contests, but i think Celtic should have enough to get through over two legs.

Not an easy draw by any standards, the travelling alone is a killer, not what I was wanting but what I expected tbh, fighting chance

Feeling confident. We are at home they dont seem to like winning away. We are a different prospect to what we were last season. Fitness should not be an issue as far as Im concerned, players keep fit over the summer ya no. My only problem is the team playing Moggas way but given we are at home first I believe this presents us with the best chance of qualification.

didn't rangers put them out comfortable earlier this decade?agree though it is the toughest possible draw being at home first to dinamo....would have been much more confident if it was away first....still though, take a 2 goal lead over there and we should be ok...i think spartak were a better side than this lot...

From a person in Russia.

"I went to see them play three times in the past year, they aren't anything special. Had a good run chasing Rubin last year, but completely collapsed including a drubbing on their own patch by CSKA (bloody cold night, and the old guy kept shouting about Aberdeen when he realised I was Scottish) that effectively ended their hopes of finishing second.

They have Kerzhakov who is not consistent enough, but Kolodin is a good player at the back for club and country, and Gabulov is normally a reliable keeper. The Kombarov brothers on the side of midfield and Kokorin up front are hot prospects. Khokhlov is a big player for them in the middle of the park and a lot of their play is channelled through him. Overall though, to say it is the most difficult tie is a bit premature. Twente have had a great season in Holland, and Sivasspor did well in a competitive Turkish league. I would have taken Dinamo Moskva as second pick behind Timisoara.

The only question will be where the game is held. Their stadium is under renovation, and they normally play at Khimki for league games (short elektrichka ride from Petrovska-Razumovska metro). However, if they expect lots of fans, they may well just play it at the Luzhniki."

Russian/Ukranian success in recent years has been built on paying lots of Gas money to foreigners, mainly South Americans.

Dinamo don't seem to have any of those, Kerzhakov is a great direct player though and unless he's dipped off rather since Sevilla, he'll be a threat to our defence which so far is unbolstered by any new signings.

Left back and centre half please!!!

Think we'll win at home and lose away; just depends what the respective scorelines are in the two legs.

Exactly. Shouldnt even be here, makes the whole not stengthening in Janurary idea one of the worst decisions Celtic have made in a long time.

We could have our forth title in the row and the huns could be in our position with absolutely no money and very little prospects of qualifying for the champions league.

If the game is moved to the Luzhniki, does that mean artificial turf again?

I'm sure this has been asked over a billion times but to confirm, if we lose are we completely out of Europe?

It's a tough tie, I think it's good we're at home first. When will the date be confirmed?
