Support a diffrent team then. Like it or not on a whole tis transfer season has been a relative succes. We could/should have invested more, but we have improved.

If you include the £2m we payed out to get Mowbray and his team plus the £3.8 for Fortune, £1.5 for fox then it works out £7.3m spent which is roughly what we spent last season. Still think more money should have been made available especially so as its a new manger plus not to mention all the the players that left and the £ that freed up. He should have been properly backed and i dont mean by silly money but with around £10m. Quite clearly we lack proper depth in the wide areas, upfront and centre half. These areas should have been addressed. Now i feel we have weakened the squad overall. A couple of injurys to 1st team players and its a worry.

We have released 2 new strips this summer 1 of which is the most sucessful away strip we have ever realeased. We had a money making game in Australia and another in Toronto tomorrow. Had 2 qualifying rounds so far in Europe. 3 top earners (naka, bobo, jvoh) & 2 squad players (donati & hartley) off the wage bill with £1.5m received from Donati plus 5 players (i think?) put out on loan. Where is our money going too?

To quote Jonny Lydon - "you ever get the feeling you've been cheated?"
It is quite easy to find out where our money is going to, simply look at the accounts. Around half of our costs are taken up by wages, the rest is related to running the stadium etc. A high proportion of costs are fixed and can only be reduced through pain either in terms of the playing squad (provided we can move players on) or by making efficiency savings in other areas.

Income, on the other had is much more variable, and already this season the club faces reduced income from lower season book sales, lower domestic tv revenues, lower European monies (while the games we have guaranteed for the EL will pay decent money, it will not fully replace the surplus generated from CL participation). The situation will only be addressed if we have a very longr Euro and cup run, and if the merchandise figures are better than previously, and even then....

In that context, the reduction in wage bill through reduced squad size is probably the price of still spending what we have on new players and management team, while retaining most of our higher earners in the squad.

While as football fans we would all like to have seen more new players coming in, the stark reality is that this would be at the direct consequence of increased debt levels. While there is an argument that this can easily be managed, this is only true up to a point. Also, the claim that we can buy big(ger) to secure CL football ignores that this is not without risk, bearing in mind the prices you have to pay for "guaranteed quality". Take your choice, you can try it the Boards way or the old Murray/Leeds way. That seems to be the choice we face, but remember it can come back to bite the club on the erchy. Not sure I would take the risk, especially given the current state of Scottish football and the bleak prospects for improvement over the medium term.

I think it might be hard being in this leauge to sign players well ones that weve actually heard of . Look at the players Stoke city have signed Huth , Tuncy etc .

Now they are two class players but two players we probably couldent get . I dont think Stoke city stopped us signing them the SPL did .

Tuncay for 5 mil is the buy of the season. his wages won't be cheap but he is top quality. Amazed he didn't attract better.

Got the fright of me life when I read this!

SPL TRANSFER TRACKER:
In: Aberdeen (Sorensen), Hamilton (Antoine-Curier), Kilmarnock (Brown), Motherwell (Moutaouakil), Rangers (Rothen)
