OT I know, but I'm chuffed so if you don't like it it can be deleted.

But my wee lad just moved from a Div3 side to Div1. :chuffed:
:rocker:

Well done to the boy. Where did he move?

Is he a left back? ;)
Fraid not. Pretty much anywhere else but. Although, he has done that role on occasions when needs must. Not much better than LN though.
Even a wee bit better would do!

Four players minimum.........
I'd say a playmaker, a left back, a midfield enforcer, a first choice striker and a back up striker are needed.

But most of all give us some pace please TM
I'd settle for any players who can actually PLAY fitba' and introduce a bit of excitement to watching Celtic play..... :suspect:

A guy in my work, who's auntie once saw Lee Naylor pass her in his car, told her son that his granda's pal saw your boy play once. Said he wasn't Celtic class.....

No, that's a MAXIMUM of 4 players during this window.

and if this is a direct quote, read the last line a few times and let it sink in  :nono:

...and heres the same quote, all be it tweaked a little in today's Herald...

Celtic have also been linked with Fortune's team-mate at Nancy, the Cameroonian midfielder, Landry N'Guemo, as part of the rebuilding programme. Mowbray expects to make up to four new signings before the season starts. "If nobody goes out I would like to think if I was looking for the right kind of player, I would be looking at four to start with," he said. "If we propel a year or two years forward that means the squad would develop each transfer window.

"We did not win the league last season and we do not have the guarantee of the Champions League group stages. We have to move things around a little. I am not asking for a treasure chest of money but a bit of manipulation to get the right balance. I am not going to demand £10m for a centre forward. You can get good players for nothing and good young ones for a little. To buy them ready-made is expensive."

Apologies for posting twice in a row (its just not KDS etiquette :nono: ) however some interesting thoughts from Mowbray in todays sun :suspect: on the standards he expects from the players, coming from a chat he had with Boruc. Yeah I know the sun is a rag but I thought it worthy of a look as for once it does include quotes from Mowbray. I put it in here because it may have some relevance to Boruc either re-signing or resigning...

TONY MOWBRAY looked Artur Boruc straight in the eye on Thursday morning.

The new Celtic boss demanded honest answers from the Pole about his commitment to the club.

Then he gave controversial Boruc some brutal home truths.

Standards WILL be met, sloppiness on and off the park WON'T be tolerated, respect to everyone at the club is a MUST.

If not Boruc - who conceded horror goals as Celtic lost the title - will be shown the door.

Mogga insists he got the replies he wanted, though the sight of a blobby Boruc at Lennoxtown would've been alarming.

Yet he sees no reason why the shotstopper won't start the 2009-10 campaign as Celts No1 again.

Mowbray revealed: "I've had a good chat with Artur this morning.

"I only watched him from afar last season. I try to base my relationships with players on respect and trust.

"I said to Artur that as long as we have mutual respect for each other, that he understands my job and I understand his issues and problems, if he has any, then we'll be fine.

"If he has any problems then he HAS to make me aware of them. It's no good him keeping them to himself and me just judging him on a performance. If he's got other things going on in his life he needs to talk about then he should do so.

"I also talked to him about his motivational levels. Is he ready for another season? Is he ready to go again?

"He must be professional, whether he's got ideas of moving on or not. He's not intimated that to me so far.

"He understands he's got to get down to some hard work pre-season and get focused on the job.

"The biggest clubs in the world, if that's his ambition, won't come knocking if he's not performing week in week out. I think he gave me the answers I was looking for. I felt as if it was a very postiive conversation with him.

"Artur's personality suggests he's a confident boy, that he knows his ability and what he can achieve.

"But I also think he knows he needs to knuckle down and get on with the job, whether that's to be the best goalie for Celtic week in week out or whether it's to attract a huge bid from a giant somewhere round the world.

"But it's never going to happen unless he's producing for us.

"I don't see any reason why I wouldn't start the season with him as No 1. He's worked extremely hard - although I wouldn't say running is his greatest forte.

"He's practically crawling around there to make sure he does the same amount of work as the rest, and that's a great credit to him."

Mowbray added: "It's straight-forward for me with players - are you ready, are you up for it, do you want to play for our team?

"I've seen some of the goals, I've seen some of the body language.

"If one of the biggest clubs in the world come knocking for you, then am I going to stand in your way? Probably not.

"If you are telling me if its right for the club, right for you, then we've all got to push on to get to that level as we're NOT there, I don't think, at this moment.

"I tell footballers: This is the way I am, this is what I do, I do expect high standards, I don't like lazy, slovenly players.

"I like things to be done professionally. Training starts at this time, training stops at this time, when I'm talking you listen, just be good men. Don't make the kitman's life hard, don't make the laundry woman's life hard, respect everybody, let them do their jobs and we'll get on fine.

"I think there's good men here, I can see it in their eyes.

"Sometimes when you talk to players they aren't listening, they're not looking, their interest is somewhere and they're thinking 'T****r.' I've been in those dressing rooms. I went to West Brom and felt that.

"But my first impressions of these lads is that they are all good, decent animals, if that makes sense.

"Along the way some might fall by the wayside.

"How they cope with disappointment, how they cope with being dragged off every week, how they cope with the boss giving them a b********* in the dressing room with their team-mates . . . let's see."

Predecessor Gordon Strachan had plenty of nightmare moments with Boruc and Aiden McGeady but Mogga added: "I've spoken to Aiden and I'm not anticipating any problems.

"I'd like to think he should be wanting to light up our football team. He has the talent and the ability to do it and I like talented, quality footballers."

agreed TM is talking the talk, here's hoping he can get it right on the pitch. The players will be motivated though which was sadly (or appeared to be so) lacking for long spells of last season. I also think Hartley and JVOH not getting deals will be a kick up the a*** to a lot of the squad as I think that Gordon would have given them new deals....

That is very positive re his thoughts on McGeady - looking to use him to the full by the look of it.

McGeady is back on Monday - I think there will be an each way respect situation with TM and him and McGeady will flourish, hope so anyway.

Mogga seems to be laying it on the line you give and get respect but you don't feck him about - I am more than happy to hear that.

I think we need five but without punting somebody if we try and go with quality  as opposed to quantity I was expecting three.

TM looking for a minimum of four is encouraging - it depends on the quality of the four however and he is still I'd imagine trying to sort out the Caldwell situation one way or another.
