Would rather see Millar or Ferry given a chance than a guy who has not impressed me much in the handful of views I've had of him.

Not bothered about McCarthy going elsewhere. I dont think that he is worthy of a place in the starting 11 at the moment and folk on here are always banging on about signing guys who are of a standard where they could go straight into the team and make an impression. Whilst McCarthy may turn into a decent player, he has not done anywhere near enough to justify a significant financial outlay at present.

In addition, if funds are limited, we should be aiming to bring in guys with a proven pedigree with decent experience. We have enough guys in and around our squad who may turn out to be the real deal.

I personally think the boy would be better not following Liam Miller's example and remain at the club he's at to develop. Just my opinion...
Provided they are not put into receivership.

'Cowboy' McCormick already has a judgement saying they are technically insolvent.

It is beyond me, how most SPL clubs are still viable

Unless a decent TV deal is imminent they won't be!

I see. Sorry, I thought you meant they were turning us down in favour of a brief stint in the EPL thence the Championship. The prestige attached to the EPL, rightly or wrongly, must be very hard to resist though.
It's also entirely possible that Hamilton basically forced the move on him to get some cash in, or at least made it known that it would do financial good for them.

I'd be annoyed to see us not picking up McArthy or McArthur.
And I think we should be trying to pick these two and players like these, up.

From the CU Twitter....

"We hear that Naka's agent is trying to tempt us with another Japanese player currently plying his trade in italy."

SSN didnt say anything bout unvieling there, it just said Owen Coyle woudn't confirm they are intrested in him.
this

he said (and I'm paraphrasing here) "there are other targets still on the radar but coyle refused to be drawn on speculations regarding hamilton accies pair james mccarthy & ....." can't remember who the other one is

God. An EPL team signing TWO Hamilton players takes a bit of believing!

A wee bit ot but I've seen McCarthy play around 10 times. Alot of people whom I respect rate him very highly, but I've never seen him do anything worthy of comment let alone something that merits a move to Celtic. Anyone agree?

Not good enough. Wouldn't get a game and no point on us spending big money for a reserve. We need players who will improve the starting eleven.

C'rrect.

Sadly, we seem unable to attract/afford, any such players.

Burnley are now officially a 'bigger' club than Celtic :nono:

Do you think/know if there's much substance to it?

Would seem unlikely as he's quite highly thought of, from what I know of him.

I agree with your point, but in a way i would b unhappy to see us miss out on him. He will only get better and there is also the re-sale factor.

Correct and im quite happy to take my chances with Mowbray see what he brings to the plate and the board when i see the signings Coyle is targetting and for the Epl !

Good to see some young Scottish based players go down there i suppose but i dont expect them to do much and they would not improve us either.. not real good quality.
