Fair doos, although I may have kept Hartley in a player / coaching role. Oh well.

Big Jan had to go. Last season was painful watching him.

Because I think it's always good to keep a senior player around when there is a period of transition, especially someone like Hartley who got his chance late and can pass on a bit of knowledge to younger players.

Plus, regarding Hartley as a player specifically, I feel we wasted him a bit as he was a natural attacking player with a good shot who never really got the chance to use his skills. He just played where we wanted him because he was happy to be at Celtic. I think he had at least another season in him at Celtic and would have been good cover.

I guess the good thing that comes out of this is that Crosas is now right at the top of the pecking order.

Hartley's signing sums up Strachan's signing policy quite well I think.

We sign argubly Scotland's (at the time) most in form goal scoring midfielder and...

TURN HIM INTO A HOLDING MIDFIELDER!!!!

Bravo!!!

So then we go and get Scott Brown...Scotland's most promising attacking midfielder and...

TURN HIM INTO A HOLDING MIDFIELDER!!!!

Bravo!!!

Encore! Encore!

So then we sign Willo Flood...Dundee United's all action holding midfielder and....

PLAY HIM RIGHT MIDFIELD AGAINST THE HUNS ON HIS DEBUT!!!!

good luck to him, never liked the guy pre-celtic but he didn't deserve the verbal bashing some gave him during his hoops career.

Brilliant and very productive in the league run-in in 2007-08. Great squad player who gave his all and fitted in to whatever position on the pitch the manager put him in. No whinging when he was not in the squad, and scored a few good goals (e.g. Spartak).

Hope him the best....

(sweeping under the carpet some of his antics against Celtic when he played for Hearts).

Good decision, he could barely get up and down the park in his last few games. Will be remembered for his role in the 08 run-in.

Probably for the best. I heard rumours that his prodigious hair growth was upsetting some of the more babyfaced members of the squad.

Done a good job for us.

A key member in the 2007/2008 season who helped us win the title along with Barry Robson. Scored a few vital goals for us as well. A crucial goal against Spartak in Moscow which later on helped us progress to the group stages of the Champions League and he also scored a crucial goal last season to win us the game against Hamilton with a great strike. A successful signing but it was time to move on and it now means that we will see Crosas play more.

I wish him well in the future.

Tis good news that Hartley and Jan have gone, as well as Naka, maybe Donati next

I quite fancy that Kris Commons. He has an educated left foot on him, and he can fairly wamp them from a distance.
