nice to see, even thousands of miles away, they can spot a chancer and abuse him with the best of us

lawwell's performance was just embarrassing, the greedy, grasping twit. in fact i'm going to start calling him GGT. i don't expect it to catch on

waste of half an hour

The club really should be taking more opportunities to develop its following in the Far East. There is an absurd amount of growth potential. Naka, Mizuno, the awful Du Wei, and making a Japanese version of the website are a start, but they could and should be doing alot more.

i agree, and it would be an idea for the club to have several coaches based over there on a permanent basis with one of the J-League clubs, with us having a pick of one or two players for ourselves.

Not just J-League. Korea, Thailand, and an occasional gander at China wouldn't hurt. The least they could do would be to set up a very informal system of keeping in touch with current Celtic fans in the neighborhood who actually follow local football and have them highlight a few talents through email and perhaps DVDs. If interest developed a coach coming out on a short tour of Far East talent would then at least have some base to build on. Seems like this would be easy to setup and similar to what little the team currently has in place in large swaths of Europe.

I dunno if Gaudd is reading, but if so would it be possible to have member of the Tokyo/ Japan CSC on one of the Podcasts?? I dunno how good the grasp of English may be tho. I am guessing your Japanese aint so great....

Piebochan writes well, although I dont know if he/ she is Japanese.....

I am genuinely interested in how the faraway fans get on following Celtic, and why??

I was sitting behind the Japanese fans it showed you at Tannadice at the start. The game Naka scored a Hat Trick.

Gaudd's grasp of the spoken word is limited - he is from Cowdenbeath.
If any wants to come to the celticunderground podcast just drop me an email at the site or pm me on here. I've a list as long as my arm of folk to get through but there is always room for more.

Piebo's a wee fat baldy 40year old from Coatbridge... so his grast of English isn't all that great! :ph43r: But he'd be delighted to be interviewed on the CU podcast... alternatively... Nobu, our recent TV star will be over for the huns game, he's leaving tomorrow - just been out to see him and give him a bunch of merchandise to take over - so you'll probably catch him in Bairds bar tomorrow night, but definetly on the evening of 27th!!! We're having gathering at Paddy's for the game so I'll take my video camera along and try to record us singing the songs... how's that?
