Watching Sky Sports News earlier today, Roy Keane more or less admitted that this will be his last year at sunderland, he spoke about how he has had great times there and that he willgive 100% to the end of the season and at hat point he will look back and see if he was a success there. At the time, listening to it, i picked up immediatley on the thought that it would not suprise me if Keano ends up at Celtic next year, should WGS decide that he's had enough. Listning to how Celtic had already knowledge of MON impending departure allowed them to pick a new boss out, i wondered if the same has happened this, year, and Desmond desire to have a ready made replacement intime for gordon going could be somehting that has already been agreed.... so hypothetically if my ponderings are right, do you thinkg this will be a good move. I personally am a fan of strachan, his work rate and determination have been great. I would be sad to see him go. However i think he was ready to walk last year up untill tommy burns passed away, and then with that and the title, he stayed on for an extra year. This year has been pretty much more of the same for him, and despite and excellent domestic run, he hasnt yet been able to crack europe, which i think is one of his major motivations. I'm not sure where WGS would go should he leave... perhaps he would go back onto TV for a while and see what develops at Newcastle or the like, or he could possible even go abroad for a year or two. As for Keane, he admitted in his interview that he has made a lot of mistakes at sunderland... dam right, very many bad signings for a lot of money, it makes you wonder if he would cut it at CP, he woud definatley make more demands of the board, but that might be somehting desmond would like, after all he sibsidised his transfer to CP a couple of years ago. I think if he has learned his lessons at sunderland and was willing to come in and make a bif impact, he could be a good replacement, certainly a bit more glamourous. |

Not for me. Don't rate him as a manager. He's spent an absolute fortune at Sunderland and for the money that he's spent they should be much higher than a point above the drop zone. |

No evidence that Keane is a manager let alone a future Celtic manager.Being 'glamourous' doesn't fit the bill.

If the choice is between Strachan or Keane I'd much rather stick with our Gordon. |

How much has he spent? 30 million? Sunderland get 50 million every year for TV Revenue, where else should he spend it? The fact that many managers have tried and failed in the past to keep Sunderland up is credit to himself, he's brought in some great players, i.e. Cisse. United spend 30 million on 1 player, he built a team of hard working young players, they mightn't be having the best of seasons but either way - his first year in management an he brought Sunderland back up, the next year - he kept them up. Credit where it's due. I'd love Roy Keane as our manager, I think he could be a real Celtic Legend and could mould his career around the Hoops, everyone has to start somewhere - look where Alex Ferguson started. |

The way things are and our abominable stats away from home in Europe, I say why not Keane anything is worth a try, for I genuinely believe Gordon Strachan can do little more than he has at Celtic, he IS on the way out one way or the other. Pity he is good in my opinion, but we NEED better than good! |

There is no doubting what WGS has done with the Celtic side, he has cut so many corners it is unreal, he's won the league 3 in a row and done well in Europe with a mediocre squad. I think tensions are on the up mainly due to the rising prices at Parkhead, the extortionate rates being charged by Thomas Cook and the Credit Crunch in general. If were going to pay 30 quid to watch mediocre football, whats the point? The more we invest in the squad and going to see them, the better signings we should get and the more backing WGS should get from the board. WGS put your foot down! Reducing as much waste from the squad is a great thing, but its at the expense of what we call 'entertaining football', I'm no paying 100 quid to go to Parkhead to watch Lee Naylor fall over his own feet. |

He spent the best part of £25m on 4 players from Spurs didn't he?? Then there's £9m on Gordon, £5.5m for Richardson, £5m for Chopra, £3m for Higginbotham, an estimated £8m for Ferdinand, an estimated £4.5m for McCartney, £4m for Reid, an estimated £2.5m for Diouf, £6m for Jones plus probably others that I've forgotten about and many other squad fillers like Wallace, Varga, Bardsley, Stokes, and Anderson (all SPL players at one time) for around £1-2m. For that kind of money I don't think just staying up constitutes any kind of success. Has he shown he can he work on a limited budget? Does he get value for money? Does he get the best out of his players? I'd probably say no to all 3. |

If we're only capable of attracting the likes of McGhee & Levein as people seem to be telling us daily then why are we even debating it. I don't know if Keane would suit Celtic, but here's plenty evidence he actually IS a manager contrary to what's been said. I don't agree with some of his signings but then that's the chairman he has in Mr. Yes Niall Quinn. |

If we're capable of attracting a manager from the English Premier League, and I think we are, we're capable of getting a manager with a better track record than Keane imo. A bit like David Moyes, I don't think he'd even be quoted were it not for the few games he played in the Hoops. Hull were in the relegation zone when Phil Brown took charge - he's achieved pretty much what Keane has with a fraction of the money yet nobody has mentioned him as a possibility. |

Why I think this is Strachan's last season: There was a radio interview just prior to the Man Utd home game, possibly Radio Scotland. Strachan talked about inviting a friend of his up for it. He said his mate had to "sample the atmosphere of a big European night here, before...", and at that point stopped himself saying what I think was going to be "I leave." He totally changed the end of the sentence. I don't think the sentence would have ended "we get put out" as there is always next year. Given I think he's on his way, I'd take Keane in a heartbeat. So many obvious qualities and the benefit of him making his mistakes elsewhere. |

Too early in his career for me and he's proved next to nicht as a manager yet but then as I'm wrong about almost everything else he's probably on his way and will be a massive success. |

Wouldn't be my first choice but, when Strachan leaves at the end of the season, I'd take Keano before any of the Scottish managers quoted. Definately. He'd certainly galvanise the club and, if Roy Keane can't add some bottle to this bunch of shirkers, then no-one can. |
