Just the noo, watching the Lisbon Lions make a mockery of Hearts in December 1967 (3-1) on 'Tic TV.

Anyhoo, the fans are singing that old campfire sing-along fave: "Michael rowed the boat ashore, Halleliuah!" , except with alternative lyrics.

I can rememeber that being sung as a kid at CP, but I can not for the life of me remember what those alternative lyrics are. I am certain I made out the word "Hun", so anyone know?

Seem to remember

Celtic 7 Rangers 1 alleluia!

But I'm sure there was more than one version.

Can only remember this song being sung with the match score lyrics i.e "Celtic 3 the hearts 1 Halleliiiiiiiiiuah.........Celtic 3 the hearts 1 halleliiiuah".

Sorry I know that doesn't scan very well but you'll get my drift..man!

Celtic's going to win the league, alleluia
Rangers are going to win .... all, alleluia

Certainly sung around the Lions times.

Guys,
My self and my wife have a recollection of a Celtic song to the tune of The Sash!!! The chorus was along the lines of "It is only Glasgow Celtic Bhoys in their shirts of white and green"....are we having a collective nightmare?

We used to sing It is old and it is beautiful and it’s colours they are fine. It is not what you are thinking of it’s the Buckfast Tonic Wine. I hate the stuff :boik:

I remember a variation of that

It is old and it is beautiful
And it's colour bright and fine
It is got by drinking old El D
Or the Buckfast Tonic Wine
My father's had it since a youth
As did his father before
And now I'm 12 I'm proud to bear
The rash my father bore.

Edited: Memo to self. Don't post pished!!!!

It was green white and gold
With St Patrick on the fold
That’s the sash my father wore

I have a CD somewhere with lyrics along these lines

Sure it's only Glasgow Celtic boys
Their colours white and green
They are the best team in the world
They've really got a team
You can take United, Arsenal and Liverpool as well
Cos Glasgow Celtic are the bhoys who can give them bloody hell
