A thread on a social media platform (Celtic forum) slagging off Celtic fans who post on other social media platforms?
Seeing as I'm not up my own arse and all over Twitter I'll head over to the motoring thread or somewhere less cringeworthy.
No-one’s taking it seriously, it just a laugh and a wee bit of venting. Go with the flow, there must be online Tims who you find simmet-rippingly annoying as well, no?

How do you become an übercelt?
A picture of Messi in a Celtic strip and retweeting some bullshampoo never-happened quote from a Barcelona player helps

Xavi: “The atmosphere generated by the fans in Celtic’s stadium for our visit was the most impressive I’ve ever witnessed.” pic.twitter.com/Vu7jxcoqA0
— CelticBible (@CelticBible) October 23, 2017

I remember a belter of a spoof: Messi looking all young and earnest at CP, one of those poignant, heart tugging quotes beside him that waffled about atmosphere, special fans, YNWA then seamlessly finished with Up The 'Ra!
You had me at atmosphere and special fans. I've already retweeted it as I don't have time to read to the end of the quote. :clover:

I'm following a 'You're called Sevco' Facebook group and its regularly funny.

If people don't like social media, then they can simply switch off their computers.

Another group of twitter tadgers - those who introduce themselves by their twitter handle in real life. Also those who have the same name on twitter as they use on the forums - part of the want to be loved brigade. I believe there's also groups on twitter who arrange to meet twitter pals - usually find it's the young team too - usually lacking the social skills to form normal relationships. Possibly been excluded from their peer groups in real life due to being high on the queer-hawk spectrum. Twitter used to be fun until Celtic became fashionable.

C’mon tae eff, nobody does that, surely?
Going viral is big business nowadays, so I can legitimately picture people pushing their Twitter handle into every conversation like it's a business card. It's a bit like aggressively trying to get everyone you meet to buy the shampooey CD you and your shampooey band made. Everyone wants to be the next ArsenalFanTV winker.

It’s not about liking or not liking it, it’s more a critique of the semi-literate, pig-ignorant, moron-laden zoo it invariably is.

Remember how cringe the Celtic da’s were with Summer Harl? Very weird stuff, even for the internet.

But we shouldn’t forget she was a real pioneer of the Celtic Twitter sub culture, an innovator even. Must not forget that chapter in Celtic social media history.

HH
What was worse were the trolls verbally abusing her and went to the effort of finding her sisters on twitter to abuse them too.

I’m sure that’s worse than a few 50 year olds replying to her photos saying “your gorjuz xxx”

If someone introduced themselves to me as something like, “Hi, I’m @weejinky67upthera” it’s the last thing they’d ever get to say to me in real life.

This has to stop. 250 retweets. Over 1,000 likes. Grown men, who pretend to support Celtic via social media, are actually falling for this stuff. This has reached critical mass. We can no longer be a club like no other; we must restrict membership to our Celtic family.

Thiago Silva "Hardest opponent? Probably Dembele (Celtic), he gave me a terrible night as a defender, he was so strong and powerful but with technical quality. He scored a great goal. I recall reading of a ‘meet up’ on another Celtic forum - the organiser arranged to have name badges containing usernames of the attendees on them which were dished to everyone out on arrival.

After reading through this thread it has given me a fresh impetus for the coming season. We need to take the fight to the mustard cords gang. No more of the fennel-flavoured condom brigade. This is war.

Theres alot of people out there who live in a twitter world of pals etc aye i'd agree, but through twitter and away games combined you do see faces and get to know them. would never go as far as some though.
Aye to be fair Twitter is a decent tool for tickets. Used to be excellent back in days of Ronny for picking up extras. Made a few contacts which now deal with on WhatsApp.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepthose who introduce themselves by their twitter handle in real life.

I might start a parody account with that handle.
