He's worth it.
I strangely think he is too. Has at the very least 10 years at the top barring any injuries etc. £27m a season seems reasonable for someone who will probably be the best striker, if not player, in the world for the next 10 years.
The fact that this instantly inflates the value of all the other players ( assets ) they own means it will cost them nothing in the long run unless there is a bubble and it bursts.

Like the housing market in London as long as everyone keeps playing the game everyone gets wealthier on paper.

The amounts of zeros on the end of these transfers is irrelevant in terms of value for money.

If we all agree to sell our ex council houses to each other for £10m back and forward nothing really changes, it is not real neither are these transfers until enough of them decide to start stiffing each other which would be self defeating.

Other transfer fee figures don't include wages, that's why I didn't.

We don't talk about Real buying Ronaldo for €250m from Man Utd, we talk about it being €80m

Inter (my fave Italian side) have done some cracking business already:

De Vrij, Asamoah, Naingolan, Politano and Lautaro Martinez all signed - one or two more to come...
Building a strong squad

So here's today's mental English transfer market story:

Nottingham Forest have £6m bid accepted for Bournemouth's 30 year old Lews Grabban. Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Leeds also interest.

Does this mean Birmingham City have the capability to spend £6m on a player? A not very remarkable, 30 year old one at that? How?! Their stadium is a dump - I've seen it first hand numerous times - and it is rarely ever full. They have been wasteful in the transfer market in recent seasons and with paying off a succession of sacked managers. Do they have this kind of spending power because of the Championship TV money?

Their stadium is a dump - I've seen it first hand numerous times - and it is rarely ever full. They have been wasteful in the transfer market in recent seasons and with paying off a succession of sacked managers. Do they have this kind of spending power because of the Championship TV money?

The solidarity payment from the Premier League to the Football League jumped from £2.3m to £4.3m a year alone for every Championship club when the new TV deal started in 2016/17.

That's not including the income they make from their own TV deal, which means that most Championship clubs will make the thick end of £8m in total a year in TV cash, before any fees for FA and League cup ties, which in some cases will be considerable.

That will jump higher when the new EFL deal comes in from 2019 which gives them a 35% increase on their current deal and doesn't include the revenue generated from their streaming services for the many rounds of midweek figures. So from the season after next Championship clubs will be banking a minimum £11m a season from TV.

On top of that, teams like Derby make about £12m in commercial revenue alone. BCFC won't come in at that but they'll still do alright and there's a fair chunk to be made on gate receipts in a 46 game season, especially with some big travelling supports.

Hearts were sniffing about him, but it looks like he wanted to make a go of it in England.

Decent left foot / technical player, but no pace and injury prone.

He'll do well at Juve. The reduced pace of the game will probably allow him to prolong his career too. His lack of pace was maybe hindering him a bit in La Liga, certainly going forward.
