Why is this thread now the Sevco transfer thread?
Because they're the only Scottish team showing any ambition.

First let me state I'm not concerned over our lack of activity yet as it is still really early in the window so I'm not "Panty Wetting" as some may call it.

However.....people making comments such as the only people that need to worry about rangers strengthening are hibs etc. Or dismissing rangers totally is pretty daft. Last season they were an absolute shambles they lost 3 of the 4 league games to us and had 2 nut jobs in charge and we only finished 12 points ahead of them. We played some pretty poor stuff for the majority of the season and looked like a team that has plateaued and needs freshened up.

I'm not saying they will win the league as we are quite clearly still a far better team however we have a track record of not taking full advantage when we've had the chance in the past and we cannot afford to do so again.

Edouard, another winger, right back, centre back and goalkeeper are needed in the next 2/3 Windows I'd expect at least 3 of them this summer.

i see your point . To get closer to us they dont need to beat us , they just need to beat everyone else. We dropped some stupid points last season and hopefully the medias obsession with Gerrard will mean us refocusing and cutting out the silly dropped points routine. I dont think they will even be 2nd next season if the sheep can knuckle down. Hibs did brilliantly last season ,especially against Sevco, but if they lose Dylan and McGinn they wont do so well next season. For me Killie could surprise a few and i can see them being top 4 , prob with a similar points total to Sevco. The first half a dozen games will be crucial for Gerrard , if he's more than 3 points behind us when we slaughter them in the first old firm game and it becomes 6 or 7 , the fans will be on his back. He had a long career with Liverpool where he was , one slip aside, idolised by the fans. If he gets to see the other side of the zombies and they get on his back , he wont last long. His signings are very low quality and will show him to be what he is - clueless . The ship may still be afloat thanks to season ticket money , but its listing badly to one side and taking on water.

They might have got better players - it would be hard not too

Only concern we improve where needed

Rogic fantastic

Edouard will be too

Still need right back, back up left back and definitely another centre back

Not fussed about McGinn

I think part of the difference between us not signing any new players and the huns signing a raft of them is that we need to be a bit more selective in our purchases - finding players who'll improve our squad is a lot harder than finding ones that would improve theirs (the forthcoming redundancies at Poundland would probably free up a few guys from their Saturday jobs that would do that).

It's certainly true that we've got a long history of not capitalising on our dominance though. We've done two good pieces of business in signing Rogic and Bain to new contracts, and Edouard is seemingly just a matter of time. We need 3/4 fresh faces as well, and despite all the times I've been burned in the past I'm still confident that we'll get them.

Maybe we'd have seen more urgency if the Huns had signed anyone decent . Only a maybe though , we'll have a list of likely signings As it is , no need to worry .
Take our time , make sure we get the right players .

Sad but true. Same old Celtic.
Seems that way.
The Gers have upped their game.
Under Gerrard they've definitely narrowed the gap.
Pissed off it's came to this tbh.
I am at a loss as to what Lawwell is playing at.
Desmond has a lot to answer for too.

Heard from a bear friend that they have more signings to come.
Unbelievable that we are just standing still like this.
Never should have underestimated them.
Season is going to be a tight call.

I'm new. Be gentle.
We don’t need to rush into things. Rogic was a massive player to keep, so will Edouard be.

2-3 good quality signings are what we need. Nothing more as we need to keep a core who understand and can deliver our systems on the park.

I think...

Is that one of those modern crappy poems that doesn't rhyme?

There's a scouser working in the shampooe part of Glasgow
Whose career ambitions are very, very low
Things aren’t quite as they seem
With his joke of a team
And his signings could at best be called so, so…

DUNDEE UNITED hope to land Celtic’s highly-rated Jack Aitchison on loan.

SunSport understands the 18-year-old attacker is on their list of targets for this summer.

Aitchison became the youngest player to play for the Hoops back in 2016 but has only made two first-team appearances since.

Celtic now want him farmed out for a season to get experience and will listen to offers.

Aitchison has eight caps for the Scotland U19 side.

United need to boost their squad further after releasing a host of players at the end of last season so want Aitchison to be part of Csaba Laszlo’s pool for the campaign ahead.

Wouldn't be the worst move in the world. The boy needs game time.

I'm not worried about the transfer activity over at Castle Greyskull. Maybe I'm in the minority but I'd never heard of either Goldson or Katic before the Huns snapped them up. Will they improve the Huns? Maybe. Would they get into our team? Probably not.

I've got no doubts that were working on other things apart from French Eddy. The season is still a good while off and things can move quickly. I'm not worried.

Would be a good move for him at this stage

I’ll give you a rumour - Renato Sánchez loan
Now there's a career that needs resurrected. Looked outstanding in the Euros but somehow hasn't fulfilled his promise,so far.
After watching some of his games for Swansea this term.. :twitch:

I know a few Swansea fans, and he's a laughing stock with them. Even more so with the Cardiff fans I know obviously

He'll probably end up having a great World Cup now. Even if he does I'm not totally sure that I see any point in us loaning him though, unless it's to take Kouassi's place in the squad while he's on loan somewhere else.
