Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Cheers Mickey - he’s also shown on transfermarkt with market value 3.6m !!! ( I know I know :suspect: )
English teams would need to pay a fee. Be the same as the Dembers deal.
He’s 25 so he’ll be available on a free transfer, even to English clubs.

Let us sing about Derry here and there as well, which would be nice.
I was thinking his pace, direct running, eye for a goal and physicality but each to their own I suppose.
Not seeing much evidence of an eye for goal in his stats.

If he's wearing green his stats are very good :)

as someone who folllows eire pretty much everywhere, i'm 50/50 on mcclean, scoring the winner in front of the free broomie would cause serious amounts of combustion, he has goals in him also but is he better than what we have? i dont think so, but one thing that is important is when playing with eire his work rate is superb and he keeps at it, something that we need when under the cosh in europe

all quiet on the mcginn front ?

Have heard a few snippets this week/weekend through a couple of sources. Some more surprising than others.

- Gamboa and DDV are obviously for the off (MLS and back to Holland)
- Armstrong was adamant he was leaving this summer after being persuaded to have one more crack at the CL. He was assured he'd be let go this summer once Ntcham was settled and in the hope that continuing his form would keep his price up. His form/consistency hasn't been as good as last year and Ntcham has rightly taken his place, so the teams sniffing around last year have took a step back. Both parties are now in a catch 22, don't be surprised if he stays/comes back with his tail between his legs/signs an extension.
- Erik is off, Rodgers doesn't rate him
- Contrary to what's in today's papers, I had heard Jozo was for the off. Rodgers still expects Compper to be 3rd/4th choice next year.
- A new first choice RB will come in. Lustig's red card at Aberdeen set him back with Rodgers and his WC commitments this summer means this is a priority and will be the first position to be sorted in the summer.
- Finally, look away now but....... a new centre half is not a priority, neither is a GK
Everything makes total sense up until the look away piece at end :ffs:

Just what I heard but would absolutely love to be proven wrong on both counts (GK, CB)!
Would be stunned if we go for another keeper with Bain signed up. Right back is rightly our priority position, despite the obvious shortcomings at centre back. The bold Mikael is sadly becoming a liability.

Unless there is more to the Compper situation than we are hearing,I would still look for a first choice centre back signing as well mind you. .

Like to see Mclean at the club. Watch Eire now and again on TV and have noticed his work rate - interesting point you make about maybe not better than what we have - Im unsure myself. Plus a major advantage would be Huns would go into meltdown  .

Any idea how long left on contract at WBA? Think his wages are around 30/35k per week I hear so not to far away.

1 year left, option of 1 more. It would be a good signing, but 30k is a lot.

Haven't actually watched enough of McClean to make any real judgement on his actual footballing ability but his love for Celtic and "other things" would mean that he would probably be treated far worse than Lennon from the media the authorities and fans of other clubs, he would become the most hated player in Scotland all based on nothing else than what he stands for.

I think we'll replace Musonda as I reckon he was Paddy's replacement....a winger or creative player, right back and Odsonne....won't be a lot unless Dembele and Armstrong go

Can't see us going for McClean when we have Forrest, Sinclair, Hayes, Morgan, Johnston, McGregor and (hopefully) Eduardo who can all play wide.

McClean would be okay but is probably too similar to hayes. He gets stuck in and is all heart but has no real pace which isn’t good for a winger.

Not good enough and would command a pretty heft fee/wage.

I think we need a left footed winger to replace Paddy. There are plenty younger and better options.
