Equally it could be the signs of sociopathic character traits, in an individual lacking all conscience.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jun/08/student-who-stabbed-boyfriend-loses-appeal-against-sentence
"Could be" and "signs" should be enough to put this to bed. Let alone the "traits" part.
I never said it was true, but if we're making idle speculation based on no evidence then I, at least provided an example of someone guilty appealing a suspended sentence which is directly contrary to the claim I was responding to.

Couldn't care less what it suggests, the undeniable point is that guilty people appeal suspended sentences as I have proved beyond any doubt.

Eddie shot some random fella for the craic with a. 22 when he was on loan at Toulouse.
We've all done it.
Nothing above the waist though. :lol:

and yet appealing a sentence does not make one guilty.

Edit* could have said that better but the point stands.

:clap: As is Griffiths.

The defending of Flanagan, and actively pushing for his signing, on here is hilarious. He'll soon have as many cheerleaders as John McGinn
You’re literally obsessed with Griffiths.
Ah, the hun fallback. Obsessed :lol:

Here are the Champions League deadlines for registration deadlines ...

* 5 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
* 9 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
* 2 August 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
* 16 August 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the play-offs;
* 3 September 2018 (24.00CET) for all further matches.

So still over 3 weeks to register our first squad for Europe, also ...

"For the qualifying phase and the play-offs, a club may register a maximum of two new eligible players ... such registration must be completed by 24.00CET on the day before the relevant first-leg match”

... so plenty time to refine the squad for key qualifying games ?

How about if Messi, as a 20 year old, in a crime of passion, murdered his wife after finding her in bed with another man. Would we sign him if he got out young enough to play?

It might be a bit 'latin' but I think crimes of passion should be excused.

Any other murders and I think the backroom staff have to take a serious look at things.

Crimes of passion are absolute horseshampoo. If you murder someone, you go to jail for a long time. After that time is served you have the right, under most law, to begin putting a life together. That includes becoming a footballer.

Whether the appointment would pass the muster of public opinion or the tut-tut of the morality police is another thing altogether.

3rd qualifier and playoff are obviously the critical ones in terms of signing and bedding in new players in time to be able to contribute.

1st and 2nd qualifiers should be a gimme* even allowing for early pre-season lack of fitness and sharpness.

* the consequences of failure at those stages obviously mean we still have to take the games very seriously even if we are up against part timers and amateurs that would struggle for survival in our second tier.

Apologies as ... deadline dates should read ...

Here are the Champions League deadlines for registration deadlines ...

* 5 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
* 19 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;

* 16 August 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the play-offs;
* 3 September 2018 (24.00CET) for all further matches.

And agreed .. we should have enough with our current squad to negotiate the first 2 rounds but may need ready reinforcements for 3rd round and play-offs.

I think we're going to have to plan on negotiating the qualifiers with what we have. Last time we signed someone vital to qualification was Toure, I think? Well worth the wages just for that, but he was the exception rather than the rule.

Sporting seem to have lost a few players due to a "dispute" with fans and the president. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/06/12/sporting-lisbon-chaos-continues-players-terminate-contracts/

Might be one or two to look at in this lot.
Sporting will fight any player leaving in court. Not sure that any club Will be willing to risk a legal fight, with a possible outcome that they have fielded and illeagel player for x amount of time
