It seems morality goes out the window for some when it comes to Celtic possibly getting a decent player on the cheap. More than a club?
Don't give me the second chance pish, if the fella was shampooe nobody would be calling for a second chance for him & I'd be happy if he went elsewhere for his.
I mean, I've only recently stopped cringing after seeing Griffiths with the Celtic fan of Asian decent in the video the club made recently :loel:
What about compassion and believing every one deserves a second chance?

One strike and you're out. . . do you and the others against us signing him live your entire life like that or is it just on the internet?
What would Jesus have done?

Turn over the tables in the temple that were selling replica Flanagan jerseys and turn his contract into wine.

Everyone seems to have a different moral line in the sand regarding Celtic players (and which probably differs from what they think in the real world).

It’s not about a second chance, it’s about the seriousness of what he did. I wouldn’t sign Flanagan for the same reason I wouldn’t sign David Goodwillie or Adam Johnson. I don’t want them representing Celtic. I don’t think footballers need to be role models or live impeccable private lives, and I do believe people deserve a chance to sort their lives out. But that doesn’t entitle someone to go straight back into what they were doing. That’s not what a second chance is, it’s not about keeping a job.

Players are representing the club, and what Flanagan did should be way beyond acceptable for a Celtic player.

Has he even played much football over the last few years? I see 10 Championship games last season to his name but don't know beyond that.

If we’re signing McGinn, I’d say it was pretty obvious that Rodgers has either given up on Eboue completely or, at the very least, doesn’t see him as someone who can make an impact at the moment. He’s barely featured in the first team since being hooked at half-time against Zenit.

Jon Flanagan released by Liverpool the latest name linked. Probably better than Lustig. We need a right-back for sure.
Heard he is flying to Spain on Sunday with the Hun squad for their pre season camp.

Kouassi and Armstrong away and McGinn in?

GAME OVER? Celtic star Eboue Kouassi set for Hoops exit this summer with a number of clubs in Europe looking to land the midfielder
The Ivory Coast international has made just nine starts for the Hoops since his big-money move from Russia in January 2017

Yup. There are lots of right backs out there. I’d rather go for one who isn’t him.

I'd be very surprised if Kouassi went anywhere permanently. He's highly regarded and needs game time. Give him a year loan to Killie or Hibs or the like.

:ponder: so assault is comparable in seriousness to rape and child abuse?

In general I do agree in second chances, but this club is not a rehab home for disgraced footballers to get themselves back on track. Even if they are cheap ;)

Regardless, I don't think he is good enough for us and is another, like Caulker, who is living off a reputation from umpteen years ago.

It’s only comparable in that it’s beyone the line that I’d consider acceptable in a potential signing, which is the only point I was making.

If you think I’m equating the different offences, then you’re horribly mistaken.

Agree completely it would be a mystifying decision to let him go! Should be challenging for a first team place this season.

I reckon if he was going to be challenging for a place this season, we’d have seen far more of him towards the end of the last campaign. The fact Rodgers never even gave him a run out in any of those dead rubber matches after the title had been secured spoke volumes about his current standing.

Killie might be an ideal fit for loaning him if Mulumbu leaves them actually.

It’s a nothing story in a rag based on nothing but small possibility guess work. Guy needs games so link him with move away based on no information but that. If it happens they claim to have broken the story and if it doesn’t no one will remember anyway so take a punt. Having read story it’s clear he has no specific information so no more to consider it as probable than if someone here says maybe a loan would benefit him
