Have any wife beaters played for us before?
Statistically, there will be regular posters who do and those who suffer it too.

It seems morality goes out the window for some when it comes to Celtic possibly getting a decent player on the cheap. More than a club?
Don't give me the second chance pish, if the fella was shampooe nobody would be calling for a second chance for him & I'd be happy if he went elsewhere for his.
I mean, I've only recently stopped cringing after seeing Griffiths with the Celtic fan of Asian decent in the video the club made recently :loel:
A club open to all mhate.

Flannigan would be a risk for a variety of reasons. Firstly, he’s a scummy bastard of a man. Whoever his next club are should only sign him on condition that he donates a set percentage of his wage to domestic abuse charities. I’m also reluctant to ignore a 25 year old who has played so few senior games. Boyata is a prime example of someone who wasted important years of their career playing reserve football for one of the bigger English clubs.
Didn't realise he was 25! thought he was about 21!
He’s played something like 70 senior games so he’s probably behind most 21 year olds in terms of experience.

So the boy does not deserve a chance at all, he made a mistake as far as I know his girlfriend is still with him so she has decided he deserves a chance, nobody knows the exact circumstance behind this attack. It does not have to be at Celtic but he cant be written off in life due to one incident. Wee Jinky had his problems as well and was kept in the game and plenty of others have too

Flanagan at RB & Caulker at CB.

Brendan can walk on water, so getting them both back to the top of their game would be a piece of piss 😄

What about compassion and believing every one deserves a second chance?

One strike and you're out. . . do you and the others against us signing him live your entire life like that or is it just on the internet?

I've had a quick Google of Flanagan and according to reports , he pushed his girlfriend against a wall twice before aiming a kick at her body after she had fallen down.
I'm not sure this is the correct place to debate anything or even if it's worth debating but " aiming a kick" is different from " kicking".

If he had kicked his girlfriend I'm sure the paper would have said " kicked his girlfriend"

Liverpool and Klopp didn't take the opportunity to sack him. They set the precedent for him.
He was a decent player and may be again.

Apparently no one deserves a second chance mate.

All depends on the context I suppose.

If people within the game who know him well judge that it was a one-off, out of character, moment of madness with mitigating circumstances, and that he genuinely regrets it and is seeking help/trying to make amends then they might decide he's worth a second chance.

If however they believe he's just a violent scumbag who's liable to lash out at someone else then they'll hopefully leave him to rot on the scrap heap.

Either way, let's leave it to other clubs in more desperate need of a bargain to scrabble around trying to rehabilitate players who's careers have gone off the rails for whatever reason. We're in a very good place in terms of squad and finances and really don't need to be taking a punt on players who've hardly kicked a ball for two or three seasons.

Would love to see us take a flier on Lee Chung Yong. Out of contract from Crystal Palace at end of the month so no fee / low risk. Can play both on the wing and something of a #10 role. Could be just the kind of creative attacker we need to unlock defenses.

Cracking player when healthy and model professional. Think there’s something still in there and would love to see what Brendan could do with him.

Reports in Merseyside this afternoon we are looking to get Jon Flanagan from Liverpool on a free....

Dont watch Engerlund football but is he any good?
I'd also take him.

The guy has had a moment of madness and everybody deserves a second chance.

Was really highly rated a few years ago.
Sorry, but kicking eff out your missus can’t be considered a moment of madness

Far from it

Remember him and Ki left Seoul at the same time, he was rated as likely to go further than Ki but doesn't seem to have worked out for him for whatever reason. He's 30 now so that would be my only concern, not sure how many years he'd have left in him

Aye, he's done well enough, but never hit the stars (tbf, not like Ki really has either).

I'm not at all comparing them, but I think there could be something of a Lubo situation there. Sometimes a player just needs a change of scenery and to wind up in the right place at the right time.

He's only just turning 30 next month and seeing as how there'd be no fee, the age situation doesn't worry me much. Know we were linked with him once or twice in the past. Would love to see it happen now and think it'd be low-risk/high potential reward.

I think the question was whether you approve of a 'one strike and you're out' approach to life.

Signing for us, Panathanaikos or Shamrock Rovers.

Or he thought it was a nice wee emoji and it means nothing.

Pato? He'd cost the club' turnover in wages! Would be a comical signing, and probably an absolute failure, but doubt it's even close to a starter.
