Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Aye fair enough but it's the same 3 posts (would be a good signing, wouldn't mind/could do a job, no good enough) over the past 30 pages with occasional post with some information. End of the day hell either sign or he won't. The opinion of Timmy fae KDS won't make a blind bit of difference. The boy has a point when he says John McGinn thread would allow this one to get back on track.
Back on track to where?

There are no other rumours so why not debate the one rumour there is? :ponder:
We need to make the transfer thread great again. 200% tarrifs on all McGinn speculation, hit 'em where it hurts!

I’d take McGinn and believe that Rodgers will improve his game. Don’t see us losing money on him either if he were to be sold in the future. Always best reserving judgement until you see him play in a Brendan Rodgers Celtic team and Inpersonally don’t think he’s as bad as some have made out. Remember Lee Griffiths getting pelters on here before he signed, folk were saying they wouldn’t celebrate if he scored and he wasn’t fit to wear the strip. It all gets a bit mental on here during the transfer windows.

Ffs. A Is John McGinn garbage? thread might just save this thread from the aye he is, naw he isne blackhole that it is currently in.
It’s the transfer thread. People are discussing a player with whom we have been heavily linked. If that’s not your thing, fair enough, but I’m not sure what sort of chat you’re expecting in the transfer thread.

The same 3 posts? That’s a 50% increase on most other threads. ;)

We all want to see stuff happening in this thread, but if nothing’s happening then people are going to blether a wee bit about potential signings. There is no “track” to get back to. This is the transfer thread, it’s not a new thing. And if repeated opinions back-and-forth ain’t your thing, then every thread on here would be locked before the second page.

Basically, this thread is no different from any other thread on KDS.

Celtic are set to break their transfer record this week as they look to formalise a permanent deal for Odsonne Edouard, while sources inside the club have rubbished any link from Leicester for manager Brendan Rodgers. (Herald, print edition)

Think he was in his place in Portugal last week.

Brendan was having three weeks to relax at his place (Brendan's) in Majorca straight after Scott Brown's game so he will likely be back now.

Pre-season starts the 20th June.

As ever what happens on the transfer from happens* - Just hope to feck it is quality first team enhancing signings and not squad fillers this time.

I am still not sure about the McGinn scenario - Most seem to think it is on - I think people are looking down the line at Brown not being there : and trying to work out who can replace him - Brown altered his game slightly last season and stayed back a bit more than he used to - He is 33 in a fortnight but he is extremely fit and just wants to play football - I think he will continue to more and more stay back in front of the defence in the next two seasons and Rodgers's will want him there - If we get to nine he would want to be around for a go at ten and even at 35 I wouldn't put it past him.

*I was told Brendan wasn't interested in McGinn albeit that was at the turn of the year and Brendan like everyone else can change his mind - Time will tell.

Brendan will leave Celtic one day, it will not be before 10 in a row, and will most likely to become Pope.

Thats it. Good post...

Gaffer is good enough to get himt o kick on like Armstrong (albeit 1 season 2nd one he was injured), Rogic is a player who has flourished who we all had thoughts of where does he fit in..now he is a certain starter.

2/3 others have kicked on who we all thought were for the chop when gaffer came in.

McGinn is a decent player and will only get better IMO...

Re McGinn, get him in now with the view to being Brown's long term successor. Let BR and Brown himself coach the lad into the role.

Far better plan than waiting till the summer Broony actually leaves.

Jon Flanagan released by Liverpool the latest name linked. Probably better than Lustig. We need a right-back for sure.

A guy who has had 28 1st team appearances in the last 4 seasons and who will be looking for mega wages? Or will it be a case of - Celtic were his boyhood team/Brendan is his all time fav manager and he would play for nothing if need be?

Flanagan had a break through season under Rodgers, but he always seemed like a back up option rather than someone who would fit the bill.

For us though, we need a right back and Flanagan also has the ability to play at left back should we need it, which would be a desirable option to have.

His personal issues are a big sticking point for me. I know everyone deserves a second chance, but i sometimes think that that type of baggage can be magnified when you play for team like Celtic and sometimes it would be easier for us to avoid and him to find a club less in the spotlight.

10m for Edouard.....thats a big fee if true (doubtful) if that was the cost of the deal including his wages over 4 years then aye go for it but a straight 10m fee is a bit scary, we cannot afford to splash cash like that and for it to go tits up if he fails to produce, the guy showed some glimpses of brilliance but not 10m worth, i think our track record on wasting money on players that fail to produce is whats scaring me a bit, offering Moussa a big deal would be a safer bet imo but what do i know!
