So do we possibly have a manger now that see's something in McGinn that would make him a top player like Dortmund done?

Like he done with Armstrong?
Delia signed Armstrong
Did he though? Did Deila sign anyone, in reality?

If we do sign McGinn.
How much do St.Mirren get from the sale??
Did he not leave St Mirren as a free agent?
Not sure just remember Chick the Mirren fan bumping his gums on RS about it being good for his team.
That'll be in hope rather than knowledge. Had it been the team he actually supports that were selling he'd have known.

I have hope for you breaking through the paradigm. Disturbing but rare moment of clarity on a pawn manipulation forum

Wish folk would stop comparing Mcginn to Brown

Or saying he can step in once Brown calls it a day etc. John Mcginn isn't and won't ever be on a par to Scott Brown.

Waste of money if we sign him in my opinion.

McGinn isn't that physical.

He fouls a lot and gets fouled a lot but i've never been impressed by his strength.

Also extremely wasteful on the ball.

We need better.
No disrespect mate...but you obviously have never watched john Mc Ginn
He holds the ball up like no-one else
He is an unbelievable passer of the ball
He can score goals from the midfield

Reminded me of when Brown played for Scotland circa 2008 :ph43r:

Paul Lambert was a better player after being at Dortmund - he changed from an attacking midfielder, to more of a holding player. You can be almost certain had we bought him from Motherwell, then it would have been as an attacking midfielder in which case you could question his worth as a signing.

You can't really compare him and McGinn.
So do we possibly have a manger now that see's something in McGinn that would make him a top player like Dortmund done?

Like he done with Armstrong?
Armstrong isn’t a top player.

Still a poor passer.

You're right Armstrong isn't a top player but he does give us something no other midfielder we have does and I think you know yourself McGinn won't give us the same if he is his replacement.

Agreed. Armstrong is a far better player than McGinn. I don’t see it in him at all.

McGinn isn’t comparable to Armstrong or Brown, completely different player to both.

Lets be honest, folk only compare McGinn to Brown because he plays for Hibs.

I also think he's frozen in some big European game under both Deila and Rodgers, especially the drubbing against PSG at home. Just didn't turn up and seemed overawed but his ball control is pretty poor.

John McGinn.

Never been overly impressed with him.

However, in the SPFL at times we do need someone with his physical, at times dominating presence if we are going to give Scott Brown some well deserved rest time.
Currently we don’t have a natural replacement for Brown. McGinn might be a lightweight alternative, but still a decent one.

So, signing him wouldn’t be the worst idea.
You say he has a physical, sometimes dominating presence, but then call him a lightweight. :ponder:
