Live from the Basement.

Need Right back, Centre half X 2 , Left back, Winger and forward to replace Moussa. Need some skilful players, we play so many teams with lots behind the ball.. Need people to take men on.

I think BR will look to steady the ship for the ten.

I expect to see guys staying rather than a plethora of new faces. Stability and all that.
We need to do more transfer wise than 'steady the ship'.

Rodgers deserves serious financial backing, after leading us to consecutive Champions League qualifications plus the double treble.
Not true. We must start with steady the ship and add. This is a squad that has produced successive trebles FFS does that not count for anything? We have already made inroads with Ajer, Bain and Rogic.

Already Roberts (unfortunately) and Musonda (coulda, shoulda, woulda) are gone, Edouard is still in limbo. Boyata and Armstrong are in the last year of their deals. While this team requires some fresh talent, it would be a mistake to ignore those in the last 24 months of their contracts. Most of this squad are the guys who will bring eight and nine. Knowing this board, knowing BR thus far, I just don't see a host of guys getting punted and replaced.

I can see a RB, another CB and depending on loans and the Armstrong situation, another midfielder. If we keep Boyata and Dembele and Edouard we will have had a decent Summer. I'd like to see LB cover, perhaps a loan or journeyman to protect KT a bit more. Failing that, use Compper on the left of a three more often.

All in all, very few outs, three perhaps four new faces and off we go.

Why would there be rage? McClean is better than Hayes.

Whether he's what we need is a different question.

Next year if we hold onto the main crop, bring in Mikey Johnston to the first team and bring back a fully fit Hayes. Get Edouard and add a RB and a holding midfielder I'd be happy with the squad.

not wanting to down the atmosphere after his big day yesterday but we do need an upgrade on brown for europe in the middle of the park, a hard nut who bosses games
now brown might have great pass completion and all that but we were found wanting this year especially in paris munich and zenit

ntcham will get better but is he an enforcer? armstrong if he stays not that player either, kouassi 2 raw

doubtful if mcginn is either

apart from there, a rb at l;east 1 cb, a striker, a winger

i would say a keeper also but with bain signing that wont happen

The Sevco rage I mean. Would he improve our first team? Maybe not, but he would certainly be a decent squad player, particularly when we play a back 3. Agreed much better than Hayes.

Of course, we should be looking for players to improve the first team as a priority.

Roberts and Musonda have gone - I suspect that they will have someone in mind to replace them.

De Vries may go as I suspect Bain is his replacement.

Gamboa is definitely up for sale and we badly need a RB to challenge Lustig

Simunovic, Sviatchenko will almost certainly leave. There are huge question marks over Compper and his failure to even get on the bench. If Boyata doesn't pen a new contract then we are looking at having to buy two centre halves

Maybe Armstrong might not be replaced if he leaves

Many suspect that Dembele was always going to b here for just two seasons. Signing Eddy permanently would be a start but we would still need another striker

Agree with you on a back up for KT

Likelihood is that at least 8 players have gone or are going. Likelihood of 5 players coming in. Thats still quite a lot in one summer

Out of all the players we need to upgrade for Europe, our best performer likely isn't top priority.

I'd love to see some real & proper intent from the board, really get the fans going.
The feel good factor of Brendan signing & Robbie Keane, you know crowds in the streets type of fayre. Musonda & Compper should be an eye opener for the board, an embarrassment. Rogic & Edouard the complete opposite, great work (should Eddie sign as expected).
RB
CB
LW

Sell a shed load & sign up Edouard before the window opens.

FWIW I would imagine Rogic didn't sign for 23 quid a week and a transcard (one for the kids)

That deal most likely amounted to a significant sum. Boyata and Edouard will be the same. We'll have a number of first team players on high wages when you add in Gordon, Brown, Dembele, Tierney and Sinclair, followed closely by the likes of Forrest, Griffiths and Lustig. We are investing heavily in the existing players and yes, while there are a few names need moved on, I'm not convinced we'll be signing a name player this Summer, unless one goes of course.

Dembele, Lustig as should Sinclair should be out the door, we've released wages that Roberts and Musonda where sooking up

We've a real chance to power on ahead with a good few quality signings. Maintaining a team isn't good enough, it's the minimum. We need an injection of quality footballers. 3/4 players for the 1st team.

Edit - We've fannied about for two windows in a row really only gaining Ntcham and Eduoard ( who we still havent tied up ) . Time to ramp in up, despite the outcome the season wasn't a great watch.

Got my hopes up for this window for some reason, hope to eff we get the quality in that we desperately need. I'm all for signing a young prospect, I hope we do to be honest but I would hope to see two established players of real quality coming in.

The amount of incomings will depend on who goes but even if we keep all our strongest players I think we need at least 4 first team players. At least 1 centre back, a right-back, a winger and Edouard. I would prefer a goalie too as Gordon isn’t getting any younger and I’m not convinced about Bain as a number 1 but I think Rodgers seems happy with what we’ve got in goal.

Obviously if Dembele, Armstrong etc are sold they will also need replaced.

Deadwood needs punted aswell. Allan, Ciftci etc preferably on permanent deals. Although I believe they’re both on contracts until next year and no one will be daft enough to give them anything near the same wage as we stupidly did a couple of years ago so may have to be loaned again. DDV Gamboa Erik should be moved on too. Possibly loan deals for Kouassi and a few of the younger guys.

With Rogic and Bain sorted, I'm heading into this window looking for critical areas to be addressed as a priority. The right back area is as much a problem as it is a priority. I'd imagine that Lustig is one of our top earners so I doubt he'll want to play second fiddle to anyone. That said, I've long thought that his best days are past him. For me, the right back area is the most important position to be addressed this window.

That's swiftly followed by the centre back position. I do think that Ajer is good enough and Boyata, Simunovic and Hendry are good enough for domestic level. We need a really good centre back to come in for European nights though.

If we get Edouard tied down reasonable early, I'd be happy to go through the season with another project as third choice - IF Dembele goes that is.

I really like the look of Lewis Morgan and Ryan Christie. I think they both have a lot to offer us. With Roberts going, I really think we're okay in the wide areas. I hope they get a chance to impress.

we will badly need at least 1 more wide player on top of what you listed. to have only Hayes (struggles to be good enough when fit nevermind coming off serious injury) forrest and sinclair for wide areas isn't enough.

also if your talking the players BR actually picks from its limited movement but would expect the following no longer to be Celtic players.

de vries
gamboa
cifci
allan
big erik

already roberts, musunda are gone.

wouldn't be shocked if either jozo or boyata goes... decision to be made on eboue... we then have to see what happens with armstrong, Moussa and eddie.

thats 2 gone already, 5 squad filler i expect to go and then you have 3-4 players who actually get a game who are 50/50 as to if they will be here.

thats a fair bit of change and most important thing is we need to sign players manager will actually play/pick.

Keeping Dembele for another season would be a big boost. He could be the difference between us and similar teams as he gets us up the park and has the skills which would make a difference in tight games. Add Edouard and bolster the defence, maybe we can push on a bit in Europe. It won't happen in one season but we have to hope.
