Terry is a right carrot but he's one of the best defenders we've seen in this country. I didn't see much of him at Villa so I've no idea if he's way past it or still good enough to do a job in Scotland. His experience alone could be invaluable to guys like Ajer.

It’s normally well into the qualifiers before people start losing it on here, happening earlier this year.
John Terry
Your are most probably correct but stranger things....

Kolo Toure did a job for us and to be fair I could not see that coming. I posted it and as I say it was a rumour I was told yesterday.

John Terry wouldn't be the worst option for a season as a player but it could have unforeseen benefits in developing Ajer and Hendry, to say nothing of Boyata should he stick around. He might have been here already had Villa not thrown stupid money at him. And there's the rub -- would he swap megabucks for a few more medals?

We need athletic defenders. Villa do all they can to protect him. They sit on the edge of the box, 5 across the backline and he heads and boots it away.

If we don't improve ourselves in the CB position then Terry may be a shout to get us through the cl qualifiers.

Banging yer mates wife and calling someone a black b*****d is not something personally I would like associated with Celtic.

But look around your office , factory, uni' or whatever and I bet you know someone who is up to it. You may even regard them as friends.

If he had the Kolo Toure effect could you turn a blind eye?

Terry in the system we play where our midfield offers very little protection to the back line would be an absolute disaster at this point in time.

Personally speaking ...what he did to Anton Ferdinand was shocking and of course extremely low & vile...he was caught smack bang on the heid doing it. He lost his Engerlund captaincy & IIRC his place in the national team at time. Cannot remember the specifics but he got punishied and rightly so.

I dont want to open ther can of worms about what people say & do etc as it is a football thread (as Im sure it will get jumped on - different views etc) that said Ive said plenty of silly things over the years I immediately regret and at times horrified I said it - maybe not quite what he done but bad enough Ive looked at myself like WTF.

The wife thingy well I think lost sof folk have a past and again done silly things..... he just got caught!

Professionally I think he would be a great signing and has still got it as he finished well up the English Champsionship so see no real hassles there. He would definetly do a joba
nd again help younger CH like Ajer & Hendry (who I trhinkl looks major out of his depth so far!!)

Good signing if indeed it happens.

I take it you’re talking about Europe?

Don’t see any problem domestically.

Even Domestically. We let players run at us, because our midfield is generally very advanced as are the fullbacks. Our defenders need to be mobile, Terry isn't anymore (and frankly hasn't been since very early in his career, he was always well shielded at Chelsea). Our typical mode of defense from open play in Scotland is us being caught on the counter.

John Terry will be the same age Davie Weir was when he rejoined the huns under Smith. Smith's bus parking system protected Weir, meaning that he was just responsible for clearing his lines, we don't play that way. Terry is better than Weir was but I'd warrant he's not any more mobile at this point.

I actually wouldn't be against Terry joining us if he's happy to be on a reasonable wage.

He's likely to bring more than his playing abilities, which will come in handy over a long season if he's happy to be back up; coaching the likes of Ajer, offering up contacts at Chelsea and even being an attractive prospect to play alongside younger English players we're looking to sign (unless they are married, of course :ph43r: ) would be the other benefits.

Terry wouldn’t be my first choice but we need experience especially away in Europe so wouldn’t be against it. Being mobile and quick is all well and good but a centre half who can defend would be nice and if they can organise others all the better

Villa had the 3rd best defense in the Championship last season.
