I wasn’t counting Edouard as he was loaned with a view to buy - totally different scenario to developing someone for the benefit of others. Boruc and Forster also in this category.
So they don't count as loans if they are successful then?
I’m sure you’re well aware of the difference between a “try before you buy” loan like we had with Edouard and Boruc and simply borrowing a young player looking for first team experience who we have no chance of keeping. Wilson appears to fall into the latter category.

Im sure the huns track record with loans will have Liverpool salivating.

They should send Wilson to Aberdeen, their record is pretty good. Barring the injuries, Roberts was a revelation as a loan.

I'd be happy with Brendan's 'won't stand in any player's way' approach to that one.
I think the signs are that he'll go if a reasonable offer comes in, and I think that's bound to happen.
Replacing a Belgian internationalist with a player of similar stature won't be easy or cheap. If we can improve his contract and keep him another three years that would be very good business imo.

I think a lot of our loans/buys from Man City have been down to the relationship we have built with them through PL's son.

Liverpool seem to be turning their nose up at us. (If the reports are even true)

Wouldn’t count out Roberts just yet. The closer it gets to the transfer window closing and the longer Roberts still being at Man City could be good for us. He won’t want a season at City playing reserve football and Celtic won’t want the transfer window shutting without signing a winger. Champions League Qualification is another £30-£40million. If that if secured I think Celtic will make a move for him.

The only reason any loan here will fail is because the player isn't good enough to get regular games or an injury. Simple as that. Roberts couldn't get a game because he was injured and Forrest was better. Musonda couldn't get a game because Rogic was better. If Wilson can't force his way past Forrest or Sinclair they should just go ahead and punt him now because he sure as eff isn't going to forcing his way past Mane and Salah.

Paddy Roberts doesn't want to come back - Hes said so already - Enjoyed his time here but looking for a fresh and harder challenge

English transfer window closes on August 9th I think?

May well be a few players, Roberts included, who we could get on loan/loan to buy etc.

Won't get that at city reserves. If he doesn't get a move to another EPL club he could come back to us to put himself back in the shop window, you never know

if no one else wants him and he's faced with man city reserves we need to look at purchase on terms which work for us - so if wages are too high purchase drop

Did anybody ever find out what the Musonda story was? Its being made out that we were in the wrong by not just playing him, and I canny see that being the case.

Rogic situation changed and he was no longer needed / not quite as good as we thought he would be.

I believe some people are over thinking the DD/BR meeting. There's seems to be a perception of it being "I'm going to tell the teacher" about it. I don't think we need disbelieve BR when he has repeatedly said he is happy with his relationship with the board and that he gets what he wants in the way of funding.
I think it is you who is over thinking things with your "tell the teacher" scenario!!! Wept Jeez!!!

DD knows the score and Rodgers like MON has the hotline and can bypass PL so if he was unhappy (and nobody I can see is currently saying he is) DD would already know about it.

People at the frontline of businesses whether it be Celtic or elsewhere have important meetings to plan and discuss the future - When it comes to buying players for the future Rodgers discussing matters with Desmond is crucial to the direction the Club goes from here, hoped for success and possibly even Rodgers continuing to stay for the crack at the ten, it has feck all to do with telling the teacher.

The number of clubs lining up to rescue him from his Celtic hell is...eh...not an effin one.

A move to France or a smaller Spanish side would probably save his rapidly declining reputation in the short term.

I think his "entourage" are being cited as a reason his career has stalled. Not sure if that helps much.

I don't think it's accurate to say that he doesn't want to come back to Celtic. Most likely, his preferred option will be a move to another team in the EPL where he has a good chance of regular football.
However if the offers are not to his liking then returning to Celtic might be his best option on the table.
He was out injured most of last season so there won't be any up-to-date scouting information available. I wouldn't be surprised if he's fallen off the radar over the last 12 months and clubs will be more interested in players who were performing well last season. I'm sure that he'll get offers, but they'll likely fall short of what he was hoping for and if that happens a return to Celtic might prove the way to go for him.
So yeah I'd agree that he would prefer a good deal in he premiership, trouble is I don't think he's likely to get the offer he's hoping for in the prem.
