todays is an important day with DD and BR meeting

when the club was run under PL complete control and we had his patsy manager we saw the relative failure that delivered - no cl revenue for 2 yrs running and losing to a crap huns team

when the club was run with PL and NL we had a balance of hits and misses and performance on and off park and recruitment which on whole (and i think a lot down to NL, Gary Parker and Mjallby) was relatively successful

with PL and BR the success has been unparalleled although the market has moved away from us on players and getting the balance in terms of recruitment seems to be even harder - i think its fair to say that it feels as if congerton is not performing that well (and let's face it his track record is abysmal) and whilst we can rely on BR to keep improving players its a helluva stretch to keep having to do so during qualifiers for CL.

with boyata into last year and jozo always a concern, kt's future at best uncertain, lustig far from fit enough for a season and back up bar ajer not of great quality theres some job to be done

in part they did try to address this with compper in jan but theyve known for months he isn't doing it

they've done great with rogic eduoard and may do same with dembele but with rosenborg not that far away (and i know theres one before that) we need to move on a number of fronts quickly and john mcginn is simply a distraction at moment

^^^^ Correct

It is actually a crucial meeting - Hopefully Brendan will come out of it with a major green light.

So far in this window it says it all if the height of our transfer targets is McGinn. I don't think he is good enough for Celtic.
I suspect our £9m striker was slightly higher up the list of priorities this summer.

I'm hoping that Rodgers gets agreement that if there is a £25m to £30m transfer out, the bulk of the money can be reinvested in the team.

Was there not an interview a few years back that any profits we made are invested in the team?

If, and its a big if just now, KT is sold we should be Re-investing most of what we get. Would we be confident that happens though?

Didn’t you know, Peter’s putting it into the biscuit tin for the next set of lightbulbs and extra grass seed ;)

There is little chance we would spend even half of 30m.

A left back in for under 4m and that would be it I reckon.

LFC apparently put off loaning players to us because of our track record with loan players. I thought we had a decent track record - Musonda excluded, obviously.

Sev's post is spot on. Lot of work needing done. If either of our fullbacks goes through injury (think how many games KT played last year) we have little to no cover. Boyata looks certain to be off, Jozo hasnt shown any ability to last a season - we want Ajer, Hendry and Bitton as our defence?

Lets keep our eyes on the ball. Times are tough for us, if scouting isnt up to snuff as Sev suggests then that need sorted too. I hope there is an acknowledgement that we might need to take a risk here and there in the market - not a Tor Andre Flo sort of risk but leaving us with the above is the more harmful option.

We don't even need the 25m from Everton, we are currently as cash rich as we have ever been, with sellable assets all over the pitch.

That defence needs surgery whether KT moves on or not.

Probably solely looking at Roberts last year and realising Wilson's not as good so not guaranteed game time.

Wigan RB Nathan Byrne mentioned again. Seems like a decent player with lots of pace. In fact, he seems to be playing more like a forward in these clips...

Fits the bill of the fullback BR seems to want after looking at Odubajo
