No McGinn in the Hibs squad for their friendly :suspect:

Genuinely think guys like Mikey Johnson need to be put out on loan for first team experience.
Not all the time.

Look at KT?
If on a rare occasion that a young player comes into the team and looks like they can dispose a first team player, like KT did with Izzy then of course, loaning them out would be a pointless endeavour.

Not alll youth players are good enough to play enough games instantly so we can either keep them without playing in the first team which could hinder their development or loan them out. I think Johnstone and a few others fall into that category.

See McGregor and Ajer for loans that have actually worked out for us..

For 99% of our young players, going out on loan signals the end of their Celtic career.

If we want to develop more Tierney's, we need to start having the baws to give promising players proper game time in our team like Tierney got. Too often a guy comes in for a cameo, plays well, then is removed from the squad for about 18 months.

Why are so many English players called Harry all of a sudden?

Edit: nevermind, he's Welsh.
It’s not restricted to the football, the country is hoaching with 20 year olds named Harry at the moment.

Just before they were born a young ginger lad got everyone’s motherly instincts all fired up whilst walking behind a herse. And William is a dreadful name.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
If on a rare occasion that a young player comes into the team and looks like they can dispose a first team player, like KT did with Izzy then of course, loaning them out would be a pointless endeavour.

Not alll youth players are good enough to play enough games instantly so we can either keep them without playing in the first team which could hinder their development or loan them out. I think Johnstone and a few others fall into that category.

Ideally, yes. I would advocate giving them game time. I don’t think Johnstone for example, will get a lot of football whilst competing with Forrest McGregor Sinclair Hayes Morgan and Edouard.

Ajer is a recent example of loans working and hopefully Rodgers will continue to oversee a change in our fortunes where loans are concerned.
