I think he'll be decent enough. I just don't see where he fits into the team right now. Brown, McGregor and Ntcham are all miles better than him.

It's also a bit of a disservice to how good Brown actually is to think McGinn will be a capable replacement because he runs about and gets stuck in.
There's a bit more to McGinn's game than that. He plays a lot of really nice passes and scores some excellent goals.
I also don't think anyone is expecting McGinn to come in and replace Brown right away. Would he be a decent addition to the squad? I think he would. Does he have room to improve? Of course he does, and he might be better able to fulfill his potential with a manager like Rodgers. I don't see anything wrong with this signing provided we get rid of more fringe players and bring in quality in the desired areas.

It seems like we're getting rid of the quality and bringing in fringe players

McGinn doesn't fit into this formation but the are lots of other ones he does fit into.

4-2-3-1

3-5-2

4-4-2

3-4-2-1

We won't be lining up the way we have done, that's all. Ominously for the KT saga, McGinn really helps our 3 at the back aspirations and adds some steel to that left side.

Happy enough to sign him for domestic stuff, but don’t think he’s near the level we need to progress in Europe. Not really an upgrade in quality.

Therefore entering the argument.

Wasn't endorsing anything, I was pointing out a fact.

We could play close to 70 games next season.

We need legs in the middle of the park, particularly with Armstrong gone and Broony at the stage where he should be rested more often. Rodgers obviously doesn't trust Kouassi.

McGinn won't come in as a starter. He will need to bide his time and grab his chance when it comes like everyone else.

The dig, heart and desire McGinn will provide will only be matched by Brown.

You can't instil that in players and every good team needs it. He can also play a bit as the doubters will soon find out.

Even Nakamura was shampoo at corners.

Very strange.
